ATTN: Rule Change
In the first few debates, I've noticed a small trend that we should try to curb immediately. For all debates from here on out, a new standard will
be implemented. Very benign change, just a small tweak that has our members working harder.
9. Quoting external sources is strictly forbidden. Members are permitted to reference links as sources, but they are not permitted to quote external
sources. The only quotes that should be used in these debates are that of their opponent's replies.
General H2H Debate Rules
This means that members can no longer go to sites and copy/paste text from other people, and use this as their ammunition in debates. If you are
going to reference something, you may only use the link itself. The text itself must be put into your own words. This is a debate forum, we do not
want to see lengthy copy and pastes from other websites.
Can I Quote My Opponent?
YES! Of course you can quote the reply of your opponent in an attempt to refute his or her points. That is perfectly acceptable and almost
preferred. But if any member is caught quoting external websites, they will have their reply deleted and risk forfeiture of the debate.
We are all here for a good time, so we will be lenient. Just keep this in the back of your mind. All of the current debates will not have this
enforced, as the rules are already binding. But from hereon out, this is the standard.
With that said, allow me to introduce the newest H2H Debate!
Head-2-Head: Palestinian Independence
This standard has been implemented for this debate.
Good Luck!
