I recently saw a t-shirt that proclaims "1984 is not a 'how-to' book" Well, ya gotta wonder about that! I just re-watched Brazil, by Terry Gilliam. It's not new, but it is even more relevant today than when it came out (1985).

If you've never seen it, you ought to as it sure provides a sense of perspective as to what path we're headed down...especially, it seems, in the UK with all its CCTV and such. And even TV that yells at you on the street! (Pick up that litter...stop fighting...eat your peas!) Talk about the 'mommy state'.

"V for Vendetta", of course.

An oldie but goodie is Seven Days in May. Actually a better book than movie, but the movie has a great cast. It's about a military plot to take over the government because the military views the president as too soft.

V for Vendetta

The Day After

Minority Report

You may have already seen them but I thought they were befitting the question.

Welcome!

You need to see Gattaca. It's Sci-fi and NWO at the same time.

Absolutely:

Let's see... in regards to the NWO/Police State:

12 Monkeys
1984
Brazil
Children of Men
Demolition Man
Dune (either production had it's merits)
Escape from LA
Escape from New York
Fahrenheit 451
Gattacca
Harrison Bergeron
Logan's Run
Minority Report
Pan's Labyrinth
Starship Troopers
The 5th Element
The Great Escape
The Matrix (just the first one)
Tron
V For Vendetta

In regards to Aliens coming forth... too many to list, but a few I've enjoyed in the past are:

Alien (all 4 of them)
E.T.
Enemy Mine
Flash Gordon
Independence Day
Mars Attacks!
Men In Black (just the first one)
Signs
Stargate
Starship Troopers
The Blob (just the first one)
V (just V, not V For Vendetta)

There's lots of others, but I consider these two lists to be worth buying, or at least renting.

Good to see another Terry Gilliam flick...12 Monkeys...tossed into the mix. Now let's not forget Blade Runner as a very cool vision of the future. Even Metropolis presented a distopian vision of an Art Deco world. Dark City. Johnny Mnemonic...dark and sinister worlds out there. Getting away from the NWO thang, but very thought provoking.
