Great Pyramid Was Built Inside Out

news.yahoo.com

A French architect said on Friday he had cracked a 4,500-year-old mystery surrounding Egypt's Great Pyramid, saying it was built from the inside out.

Previous theories have suggested Pharaoh Khufu's tomb, the last surviving example of the seven great wonders of antiquity, was built using either a vast frontal ramp or a ramp in a corkscrew shape around the exterior to haul up the stonework.

But flouting previous wisdom, Jean-Pierre Houdin said advanced 3D technology had shown the main ramp which was used to haul the massive stones to the apex was contained 10-15 meters beneath the outer skin, tracing a pyramid within a pyramid.

Now this is a twist I never thought of. Pretty interesting theory. I wonder if this will debunk the Aliens built the pyramid theorists?

Absolutely not. Left unanswered is how the Egyptians cut hard granite with soft bronze or copper.

The article goes on to say:

"Houdin also claimed to have shed light on a second enigma surrounding the purpose of a Grand Gallery inside the pyramid.

The Frenchman believes its tall, narrow shape suggests it accommodated a giant counter-weight to help haul five 60-ton granite beams to their position above the King's Chamber.

He thinks that no more than 4,000 people could have built the pyramid using these techniques rather than the 100,000 or so assigned by past historians to the task of burying the pharaoh."

This is very intriguing. It does make sense.

I'm not sure how they did that, or transported all of that tonnage of stone such great distances for that matter.

If built from the inside out, that would explain the purpose of the air ducts. The people inside would need to breath.

the "Hook" is the claim of solving pyramid construction

notice the section Headliner -> ADVERTISEMENT <-
in your (ex)quote(/ex).....that is a type of disclaimer !

so what's going on?
this architect is marketing &/or advertising the "Dassault Systemes"
"3 D"...that has recently been all over cable TV in a saturation campaign to gain name recognition for "3 D" technology systems,

i can't know the exact details, but the pyramid construction problem
they claim to have solved, isn't a real, practical, physical world solution...
but it is, a cyber or virtual world theoretical exercise which can only exist in a computers '3 D' imagery.
watch the TV Ad which magically resolves municipal & civic bottlenecks
which restrict optimum use of cosmopolitan transit systems and infrastructure, including 'envisioning' future city planning.

has anyone thought about the name Mr Houdin..
his name lacks only a "I" to become Houdini, the pioneer illusionist & magician in the early 20th century America.
Eerie how cycles are found about anywhere one looks, eh?

thanks

Hey St Udio.
Actually the ADVERTISEMENT was a part of the copy and paste that is required when you post a news article. The news article in YAHOO news had an advertisement right next to the text. When I copied, I couldn't copy without it including the dog-gone advertisement. Yep, I might be computer illiterate, but I would NEVER post something that was a freakin' advertisement!
Check out the article - it's legit my friend.
By the way, I think it's cool that you called me out on this. You have my respect for that. (Even if you're wrong!)

thee was a program on uk quite a few years ago where they went into a lot of detail about the various theories of how the pyramids might have been built.

one of the theories they looked into was the spiral ramp around the pyramids and they worked out that far more materials would have been needed and used to build the ramp around it than were contained in the pyramid itself! so they dismissed the theory.

the pyramid within a pyramid is an interesting theory. you hear very little discussion about the building from the INSIDE. but without dismantling it stone by stone you will not know how many more rooms or corridors are in there. we are supposed to believe it is solid except for the 'known' chambers and corridors. im sure there are many more rooms contained inside still. they could drill tiny holes all the way through from one side to the other and put fibre optic cameras in to find out.

as an aside, anyone interested in the pyramid's hidden door found after gantenbrink's camera was sent up one of the shafts might be interested to know that they will be investigating whats behind it at the end of this year

Justyc, I think one could use radar and/or sonar to analyze the composition of the pyramid, actually I think this has been done and it was found that a large portion of the interior was sand and not stone. I don't know whether or not this invalidates the new theory.

I can't find the link about the Great Pyramid being largely sand but I know I saw it, maybe one of knows it.
