The Power of Pictures

I was reading some articles today from a while back and something really did hit me stronger than ever. As i read a headline that says Tsunami death toll nears 140,000 it struck me how little those words mean. Phrases like 140,000 dead aren't really easy to comprehend, images like the one below help you realise just what happened.

Unless you were there you can't ever comprehend such things, like saying you know how it felt to be in New York on 9/11 when you watched it on tv. It isn't the same but being told that planes hit the twin towers and actually seeing it are two very different things.

Terrorist attacks on the US

The world is reeling from the worst terrorist outrage in history. Four hijacked planes are deliberately crashed causing death and devastation in New York and Washington DC.

Never underestimate the power of pictures and video. They will evoke far more emotion and are easier to relate to than simple stories.
