U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released a letter he wrote to White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolton, wherein Waxman asserted that in July 2002, MZM received a White House contract. The $140,000 contract called for providing computers and furniture for Vice President Dick Cheney's office.

We are back at the start of the money and influence trail here. The first contract MZM was given was for Cheney's White House office furniture and computers.

Could this be why the DOJ was in such a hurry to get rid of Carol Lam? Was her investigation of Cunningham starting to hit too close to home?
