Touching ear w/ opposite hand = bad idea
Touching eye = they're watching

What about all the hand signals that the Clintons and Bushes have been seen displaying?

Not quite rock and roll but you know what I mean.

Rock,

For Bush, its probably the "Hook 'Em Horns" used by Texas Longhorn fans. In other parts of the world its considered a wicked (Satanic) gesture. Heavy Metal singer Ronnie James Dio (of Italian descent) called it the "loik" (sp?).

I don't know about the Clinton "symbol", maybe the same thing??

Just to clarify - the "Hook 'em Horns" hand gesture has the thumb placed under the folded down fingers, whereas the classic "heavy metal sign of satan" has the thumb OVER the two downward fingers.

Also - I've read a lot of speculation that the abbreviated form of "I love You" ( American Sign Language) is also being misconstrued as the "devil" sign. Same gesture, but thumb extended outwards.

Subtle variations.

Not so, "Hook 'Em" does have the thumb over the down-folded fingers...

I must be mistaken then, obviously.

Seeing as how my father was recruiting coordinator for Texas A&M and UT is their rival school....I obviously don't know diddly squat.

I will confess this is the first time Bush has trumped me on matters of "consequence".

Sounds like my high school baseball team signs.
Touching the eye, followed by touching the elbow, then touching the cap meant bunt
Touching the cap, followed by touching the nose, then the ear meant steal

Is that the only syndicate that uses these nonverbal gestures? I guess, I kind of get what your saying, but can you elaborate more. Do you know about these people, like if they are good or bad? For some reason, they all seem to "know me" if you know what I mean. Like who I am, etc. They seem like nice people that come from all different types of socio-economic backgrounds and are very powerful. Its just that I wish I knew more about them since they're around me all the time.

Allred, you can u2u if you don't want others to see your replies. If they are too secretive. Thanks buddy for your response.

bump... anyone else have any idea what societies use these signs?

My GUESS, is that these gestures may be universal signals that are put forth unconsciously by people in mass.

Squeezing the nose is something you would only do in the company of welcome people. You don't do it in front of a crowd of strangers, you may get a booger on your face or finger. As I was typing I did this gesture to my girlfriend to show her what i was talking with you about, and indeed I did get a booger on my face. In other words you wouldn't do this unless comfortable.
Touching the ear has always signified paying attention.
Crossing the body with an arm or leg is always defensive posturing.
Simple human observation shows that people who are mad clench their fist; open palms have a long history of showing cordial feelings, for example waving hi or shaking hands.

The use of these gestures is 'wired' into people from the start; I also do not see it impossible, or improbable, that groups of people would recognize these traits and give them a prescripted meaning of thier own.

To conclude, what does it matter, and even if you could prove the motives of such people, what would that change. Of what benifit?

Well, I am certain there is a group of people both nationally and internationally using these nonverbal gestures to convey messages. Both in public and in the media (News & TV), especially in movies.

There are two movies you can rent or purchase on DVD where these gestures are used. One is called The Casino starring Robert De Niro. The other is called Spy Game starring Brad Pitt.

Use the meanings in my earlier post and you will be able to see what I'm talking about. You have to pay close attention throughout the movies. TRUST ME YOU"LL SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, plus they're good movies too.

"To conclude, what does it matter, and even if you could prove the
motives of such people, what would that change. Of what benifit?"

Well it matters because I see these people everyday where I work, shop, eat, and and even live (and no they do not use these gestures involuntarily, IN THIS CASE). I am not trying to prove their motives, just need to know what their motives are exactly and what their overall goal is and why there is such secrecy. What benefit? Knowing and Understanding WHY this is happening.

Btw, thanks for responding to my post with some interesting answers/obersvations.
