It calls for the United States to maintain its overwhelming military superiority and prevent new rivals from rising up to challenge it on the world stage. It calls for dominion over friends and enemies alike. It says not that the United States must be more powerful, or most powerful, but that it must be absolutely powerful.

I picked up on this article in a John Pilger book. It details the fundamental strategies of Cheney, Wolfowitz and Colin Powell that now form the cornerstone of foreign and military policy in the the current US administration.

Had not heard of the "Plan" before, but with every passing paragraph of the above article the reasoning behind much of Americas global activity started to fall neatly into place.

It's a longish read, but well worth it if you take even a passing interest in global politics / security.
