Well I just watched The Exorcist last night, and I still think that it is one of the scariest movies of all time.

I am wondering what ranks on the ATS/BTS'rs list of all time scary, gorey and bloodiest movies of all time.

Heres my breakdown. How about yours?

Scariest - The Exorcist

Bloodiest - Kill Bill Vol1 (not horror, but its still bloody)

Goriest - Cannibal Holocaust

Scariest- anything from the guine pig series (DO NOT WATCH OR EVEN SEARCH FOR)

Bloodiest- Equilibrium, its not horror, but it has the highest body count from a single charector in a movie.

Goriest- Gonna have to agree on the Cannible Holocaust.

Wow, has everyone seen Cannibal Holocaust?

Scariest - Blair Witch Project

Goriest - Cannibal Holocaust

Bloodiest - Technically, Nightmare on Elm Street...the water bed explosion I believe had a little bit more...

The one that actually creeped me out big time was 28 Days Later, maybe it just clisked all those urban paranoia hangups but the deserted cities and the psychotic infected erupting out of no where did have me double checking the doors and windows were locked afterwards, something I haven't done after watching a horror film since about age ten.

Looking forward to the sequal in May.

Nope, I have never seen it.

Scariest- Entity

Goriest- Day of the Dead

Bloodiest- Well, Gory and Bloody technically mean the same thing, so refer to the movie title above.

Aren't bloody and gory the same thing? Oh well, I guess it lets you name two movies so:

Scariest: The Thing/Halloween/Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (70's remake) - take your pick of one of these, I can't lol.

Bloodiest: Braindead aka Dead Alive (this is the Peter Jackson I know and love, f*** that over-rated LOTR rubbish!).

Goriest: Day of the Dead.

Scariest:
The Exorcist is quite scary

Bloodiest/goriest:
There are many, but the first one that comes to mind is Tenebrae/Tenebre by Dario Argento

Before I forget, I should mention that Dead Alive aka Braindead is officially the goriest movie of all time from what I can remember. Apparently it used more gallons of fake blood than any other movie ever. Can't remember where I read that though.

Oh, and for anyone that's interested, I put up a thread a while back about Maxim's Top 10 Horror Deaths here. It's got clips of course.

It's weird how alot of people say this as the first time I saw it, back in the dark 80's, I nearly died laughing! I guess I've just got a sick sense of humour.

Would any of you rank Turistas, Saw 1-3 or The Hills Have Eyes up there with the rest?

I was talking to my buddy about this topic, and he mentioned those three, which I told him he was crazy...

What do you guys think?

Saw really wasnt scary, it just messed with your head a lot, the hills have eyes was kind of cheesy, but it was pretty gory I guess, and I never saw turistas, I figured it would be like a rip off of hostel, and hostel was pretty bad.

Just thought... The descent was a pretty creepy film too.

I think a film that can scare you crapless without resorting to barrell loads of gore is probably the better one. Some of the stuff out now is more akin to what they call torture porn than true horror.

Apparently, many have not seen Day of The Dead. That movie, hands down, is the goriest movie I have ever seen..

I left the Goriest category from my reply because there are quite a few films out there that could possibly fit that bill including Dead Alive and Cannibal Holocaust.

Day of the Dead was certainly gory, definitely some of Savini's best work but I don't feel it came anywhere near the spltter factor of Dead Alive or the intensity of CH. Just my opinion though.

I am not sure I've seen Dead Alive.

Highly recommended. It's quite the stomach churner. Another fun splatter flick is Street Trash. Gore in rainbow colors never looked so good!

Yeah, I went to amazon to read the description. I have seen the movie around but never watched it because I thought it would be cheesy.. The plot description describes Dead Alive as a "horror comedy," I don't know that I'd like it. I am not much of a fan of comedies and certainly not mixed with horror.

It's definitely a horror/comedy but it ends up being more fun than one would expect.

Preest, I went ahead and purchased "Street Trash." It sounded pretty interesting.
