Scientists Invent Fuel Cell Powered by Sugar

Researchers at the Saint Louis University in Missouri have developed a fuel cell that runs on any sugar source from soft drinks to tree sap. The fuel cell has the potential to run three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium ion batteries we know and love today.

Scientists are definitely making progress in leaps and bounds in the area of fuel cells and/or alternative energy sources.

After reading about a fuel cell that can run off of nothing but sugar, whether it be soda or sap, I was totally amazed.

My guess is that batteries as we know them today will be completely obsolete within 10 years.

What else is going to be thought up within the next decade, that will cause technology to progress even further?
