It is our belief at Pegasus that the "rods" or "serpents" are merely the same lifeform, but seen from the side.. they are round from top view with undulating edges, a feature that is seen on "rods" Simple a side view...

And I suspect a lot of "ghost" sightings may in fact be critters

But they would scare the bejesus out of most people, that's why they don't make the evening news

Last time I heard the 'flying rods' people have recorded had already been identified as insects that were flying through the air and caused a rod like effect due to motion blur and time lapse or whatever.

I also saw the program on scifi proof positive regarding this phenomenon and it concluded the same.

But these space anomalies would be something worth researching also...

About the Space Tether, this is an excellent book Tethers In Space Handbook, more information and e-books at Tethers Unlimited.

Like laiguana show us, insects could explain some of the rods, but remains the infrared UFOs Crafts from Escamilla or Amoeboid Bioform 'Critter's from Trevor Constable, that we could see in the video “UFO: The Greatest Story Ever Denied” (see the earlier post “More on saucers and Antarctica”).

Has anyone else noticed that in the tether inncident video all the UFO's flying around can not possibly be debris. For one thing, they all have the same physical features. They all have a hole in the middle with chips on the sides. Some of the UFOs have more chips on their sides than others do. I have seen other NASA space vids that show the same type of craft. I believe this is proof that these things are not only UFOs, but the fact that they all have the same design proves they were made by some kind of inteligents.



Anyway, just my 2 cents.

I have also noticed that in the third video on the tether inccident, at the 2:04 mark there is a clear UFO that floats from the left to the right. If you look very close at it you can see that its changing shape. It goes form a football shape with one notch, to a circular shape with two notches, and back to a football shape with one notch. Whatever these things are they certainly can perform some stunning displays.

Just appears that the posts about balloons could be right. “Near Space Maneuvering Vehicle” could explain some “Serpents” in the case of malfunction of the strange aircraft.

These sort of posts make me giggle, just as an observation of people's blindness when it comes to a desire to believe something. One of the replies suggests that they are balloons, but the response to that is that you must be crazy to suggest balloons in space. The responder then continues to profess that they are in fact serpents in space - clearly a far more sane hypothesis!

Hey, if they ever get the space ladder up and running we could have a real life space game of snakes and ladders!

However there are those that are either highly elaborate hoaxes or actual Unidentified Flying objects. My favorites are those with lights (like one recently posted her on ATS). The ones with lights at least let you know the hoaxers spent some time and effort on the project.

Don't get me wrong I do believe in UFOs. Have seen them and believe I will continue to see them. There are REAL and there are FAKE. The fine line is distinguishing between the two.

At the moment I am reading Fingerprints of the Gods from Graham Hancock chapter 14 is “People of the Serpent” and lots of ancient information on Antarctica with old maps on the terrain below the ice (online version).

About the balloons and hoaxes, I accept that some cases could be justified by balloons and a few are simply hoaxes but others like the “Serpents” in upper space from the video that have a strange movement like “living creatures” filmed by NASA, they just, for the moment, couldn’t be explained, I think.
