one of the uk`s largest air displays appears to have secured the only operational vulcan in existance for a display.

she is shedualed to appear from august 16-18 at Eastbourne, East Sussex.

prior to this she is set to fly at the falklands memoiral flypast on june 17 - the first time in 13 years a vulcan has been in the air then again at her home base of waddington (one of the most famous vulcan bases next to scampton) (30 june- 1st july) then at fairford 14-15 july and sunderland 28-29 july.

i had the honour of seeing a vulcan at Abingdon many years ago - its a sight and sound never forgotton

Fantistic, I would want to see that.

Seen one once as a kid at RNAS Yeolverton, my Dad told me it nearly crashed as it did a very slow fly past then hit the throttle for a steep climb and left bank. He says it lost a bit of power and nearly stalled.

I was prob 9 or something - so any thing my old man said back then I take with an EXTREAMLY big pinch of salt!
