Umm... loading time for me has gotten slower not faster since the change and I have a pretty fast connection to begin with. Also I too have to echo the prevailing sentiment toward the new postbar. The old one made it easy to tell the history of a poster by just one quick glance. Now we have to click a multitude of buttons and open up a new page? Since when was more effort and work better... I suppose if you're trying to push something on the membership... Anyway, it appears that the postbar position has disappeared compleaty...

I hope SO didn't get his feelings hurt after some members slammed his fancy new post bar........

I liken it to calling your baby ugly.......

Oh well, we all know he works hard to make the site enjoyable and progressive. Some do appreciate it.........

I know I voiced a negative opinion concerning the new post bar, but I don't consider it whining in any way.
Skeptic is certainly the man at the helm, and his contributions have made this the best site on the web. But as members of ATS, I think we have the right to voice our opinions about changes in the community that we are all so much a part of.

This site would not exist without SkepticOverlord, but the site would also not exist without the input and content provided by the members.


I'm sure all this drama will eventually pass when the transition period is over, and we'll all get back to enjoying ATS no matter what its incarnation.

every forum that i have ever come across (even the crappy ones) has had some way to show the number of posts one has made right in the mini-profile...

hmmm, i wonder what SO will think of

or maybe we can vote for a new postbar???

the board was just very slow for me...

Board just went into technical difficulties mode, that is the mainte-
nance screen popped up for five minutes for me.

ATS is all bugged out, the homepage for ATS says we have 0 members generating 0 posts.

LMFAO!

Yeah, I've seen the dark matter screen of death off and on several times tonight.

I'm away from the office right now... Springer is in touch with our tech support crew... It looks like a minor database server issue so far.

As far as the bar is concerened... The bar as you know itis dead... Too much overhead for a minor item... As mentioned previously, the new profiles more than make up for the bar...

Sorry to go off topic for a moment, but does anyone see this forum on the ATS forum homepage? It seems to be missing from the list. I could only get here through MyATS forum subscriptions.

I'm confused.

First, it seems people were noting the lack of a post bar, then there were complaints of the look of the new post bar and now I see no post bar and SO says that the post "...bar as you know itis [sic] dead...."

As we know it?

I'd hate to think that when someone expresses their honest opinion, in the name of constructive criticism, that they'd be branded a whiner.

I view ATS as a place where we can share our opinions, and beliefs honestly.

Why should this not be the case when the subject is the site itself?

Opinions on here are so diverse we'll never get a consensus on anything. I don't think it's right that people should be afraid to post their thoughts, in case someone calls them a whiner who doesn't appreciate the work that goes in.

Guys, SO isn't here to SERVE us. We don't pay him, he pays FOR US. There's nothing wrong with commenting on the look and feel of his implementations, but have some decency...

the ATS mobile feature is a great one (and it comes in handy)...

for the record, SO is the man (well, one of the three "man's" of ATS)...

honestly, with that post, i was just being witty...

Well I really don't know what the big deal is, the Boss says the site works faster/better without the bar. I think SO has also mentioned more to come. So who knows what the Overlord has in mind.

and that's why i love this site...

(among many other reasons too)...

I would prefer the old post bar over anything else. Either have it, and put up with the slowness, or have nothing at all.


btw, wth is ats mobile?
