In this thread, someone mentioned a member... as it happens that member is part of the formula... but not on purpose... simply because of a key number.

Ok, I'll make a guess.

Does it have to do with a mix of post count and time you have been
a member?

Number of posts + Number of threads started

Perhaps an average of both.

the time one has been on ATS as a member

but it must be averaged (or based on SO's???)...

The formula is simple... but that doesn't mean the answer is easy.

post bar length = Log(posts)
= log(base 10) (e^posts)
= cosh (posts)

Just some ideas, and don't make me list mathematical functions.

Oh you said a member name being part of it? Care to narrow it down a bit? Page of this thread?

your post count X [Crakeur/Chissler X (spiderj + Springer)/(SO-Mirthful ME x Intrepid)] = x

x being the length of your red bar.

Close enough.

The bar represents a percentage of your posts against the member with the highest number of posts.

Maybe so that there is never a limit on the bars.
