www.snopes.com...
I don’t know anything about this fella. His speech was recently quoted to me so I thought I’d dig it up and give it a look-over. I’m posting
it for ya’ll to take a look at and comment on if you wish.
Here's a short biography on him Richard Lamm
Former (D) Colorado Gov. Richard Lamm gave a speech in Washington D.C. in June 2005. It was his ‘plan to destroy America’ speech. The entire
speech may be viewed at the link I provided to Snoops. I saw these as some of his points from the speech (I may have gotten them wrong, but this is
what I got from it) -
According to (D) Richard Lamm, former governor of Colorado, the way to destroy America is to -
1 – Turn America officially into a bilingual or multi-lingual or multicultural country.
2 – Invent extreme ‘multiculturalism’.
3 – Celebrate diversity rather than unity.
4 – Encourage immigrants to be unassimilated and to fully keep their own language and culture. Reinforce differences rather than similarities.
5 – Encourage an underclass that is uneducated, unassimilated, and antagonistic towards those who are educated and assimilated.
6 – Establish a cult of victimology. Have all minorities think that their lack of success is due to the ethnic majority. Start a grievance
industry that minorities blame all their problems on the ethnic majority.
7 – Encourage dual identities and divided loyalties. (my note here - Obama’s ‘church’ and it’s call to be faithful to their motherland –
Africa – came to mind).
8 – Make it culturally taboo to be against diversity.
As to why he feels these things will destroy America - read the article.
I just gave the main points.
Oh .. and he’s a former governor . I don’t know if he didn’t run or if he lost a reelection bid.
That's it. I hadn't heard this before today. I'm not surprised that at the end of this speech there were *crickets chirping* (no applause).
Anyways .... there ya'll go ...

So far the plan seems to be working.
Except there have been some changes. In California you no longer get an education in your own language. You have to learn English. That was a shocker.
There was a whole industry build up that was opposed to teaching in english. The results have started to come back that show kids doing better when
they learn in English.
I still get bombarded with work emails about how great diversity is, but no one seems to be able to tell me why it is so great.

When I was growing up my grandfather, an Italian immigrant, told me, "Quando a Roma fare come il Romani, quando in America fare come gli
Americani". Roughly translated this means, "When in Rome do as the Romans do, when in America do as the Americans do". He came to this country
and jumped through all of the required hoops that were necessary to become an American citizen, including learning the English language. He took
pride in this accomplishment and considered himself only an American, not an Italian-American.
Today we have a bunch folks coming to this country that want to adapt America to fit their culture, with no desire to be only an American. Lowering
the bar to grant these people citizenship is wrong, unacceptable and insult to all of those that treasured becoming an American above all else.

My neighbor is from Ireland. She came here legally. She did everything by the book. She loves America and even though she has family in Ireland,
she is AMERICAN. She has told me a few times that she agrees with what you have said here - that granting citizenship to illegals and anchor babies
is an insult to those, like her, who came here legally and who love this country. She gets upset with it partly because they are flaunting the law
and partly because she knows that to grant citizenship to illegals is bad for America in many, many ways.

And yet has everyone noticed that this has quietly become a non issue?
I have not heard ONE potential candidate speaking on the issue...
Has anyone else?

You mean real candidates and not the ATS faux-presidential ones, right?
It's too hot to handle. But it's VERY important. They are wimping out (so far).
Oh .. one thing I did notice ... semper, df1, and I agreed on something in a big way. Different political leanings, and yet we agree. That's nice!

that hasn't hurt switzerland
2 – Invent extreme ‘multiculturalism’.

i have no idea what this would mean, could someone clarify?
3 – Celebrate diversity rather than unity.

well, you can celebrate both. celebrate that which makes us distinct while embracing that which we all share.
4 – Encourage immigrants to be unassimilated and to fully keep their own language and culture. Reinforce differences rather than similarities.

who wants that?
5 – Encourage an underclass that is uneducated, unassimilated, and antagonistic towards those who are educated and assimilated.

well, i don't see anyone wanting to do that
6 – Establish a cult of victimology. Have all minorities think that their lack of success is due to the ethnic majority. Start a grievance
industry that minorities blame all their problems on the ethnic majority.

oh, the old anti-affirmative action argument
it's different when almost all of the problems of one group directly stem from enslavement followed by a century of discrimination
7 – Encourage dual identities and divided loyalties. (my note here - Obama’s ‘church’ and it’s call to be faithful to their motherland –
Africa – came to mind).
nationalism is bunk, it causes wars and encourages bigotry. having dual identities and divided loyalties encourages cooperation and understanding.
8 – Make it culturally taboo to be against diversity.

well, i don't see what's WRONG with diversity. diversity made america great. apple pie, that's a product of diversity
hamburgers, hotdogs, the space program. all of that came from an immigrant group

This is the true stance of the Liberal left! 100% what they stand for, and in my opinion there is far more to fear from their social corruption then
any "neo-con" conspiracy you all flaunt around here!
Where are the liberals at now? Why have none posted?
I think its because they haven't found away to refuse such claims! They are the self righteous, the ones with the better morals, they stand ahead of
all the rest in their minds, surely their plans to make America a generic society with absolutly no national identity could never be a "bad" thing!

The liberal democrats and the neo-con Republicans are co-conspirators with a globalist agenda, particularly on immigration issues.

i believe that multiculturalism is good, as long as we hold on to that which unites us
i believe that diversity is good, as long as we realized that we are also unified
i don't see the harm in multilinguism
i don't see anyone establishing a church of victimhood
i don't support anyone being deprived of education
i see the harm in nationalism
i don't see the harm in divided loyalties, they seem to make people think through on their decisions more
i really think immigrants should retain their original language, though they should still learn the new language. being multilingual is actually good
for your mind.
i support tennants of the plan, but i actually think that they will strengthen america as opposed to destroying them.
now, according to this governor, the st. patrick's day parades that will be going on tomorrow are destroying america...
and honestly, what the hell is extreme multiculturalism?

Yeah, this guy might be more believable if he didn't sound like a white nationalist. For example, he could have mentioned the following:
Destruction of the Constitution and Bill of Rights
The implementation of the Patriot Acts
Ballooning the size of the federal government
The creation of the North American Union
De-industrialization of America
Devaluing the American dollar
He could have mentioned REAL issues such as these, instead of ranting about how America has too many cultures...

We can see the results of multiculturalism all over the Mideast where a slight difference in culture results in wanting to kill your neighbor. We are
seeing it in LA where blacks are being driven out of neighborhoods by Latino gangs because the blacks do not share their culture. How many more
examples do you need? I have many more if you require further convincing.
i believe that diversity is good, as long as we realized that we are also unified
Diversity of thought is good, diversity of culture is divisive. Again the Mideast & LA are my examples.
i don't see the harm in multilinguism
Speak as many languages as you like, I speak three. However restrict all government business and laws exclusively to written & spoken English.
Congress has a hard enough time trying to make sensible laws in one language.
i don't see anyone establishing a church of victimhood
I see victimhood temples built all over ATS, don't you?
i don't support anyone being deprived of education
No American citizen should be deprived of an education.
i see the harm in nationalism
Globalism is a greater evil.
i don't see the harm in divided loyalties, they seem to make people think through on their decisions more
It sure keeps people looking over their shoulder.
i really think immigrants should retain their original language, though they should still learn the new language. being multilingual is actually good
for your mind.
I learned Italian & Spanish just fine without the government officially adopting either language.
i actually think that they will strengthen america as opposed to destroying them.
Our current laws for granting citizenship are just fine and they should not be relaxed. Immigrants do make America stronger, no one is suggesting an
end to immigration.
now, according to this governor, the st. patrick's day parades that will be going on tomorrow are destroying america...
On saint patrick's day everyone is Irish.
hell is extreme multiculturalism?
In the context of this thread I would think it refers to a Hispanic organizaion that envisions a forming a country that takes over several western
states including Califorinia . It is referred to as "República del norte" .

You know, FF, what is troubling is that every one of those points that you brought up in the OP can be seen here on ATS in one thread or another. The
mind-set is already established as "fact" and is seen as valid. It's become accepted that the "victims" are being held down by "White
Privilege" and the "dominant culture". I can show you posts where members have said they will absolutely not assimilate into the America
way.
Once people accept that as "fact", the battle shifts to defending our values against a constant onslaught of attacks from those who want to destroy
our nation.
Good find.

Victimhood temples. That is soooooooooo accurate. df1, mind if I quote you on that? I'll give you full credit of course.
Victimhood temples .... Pray at the altar of 'no personal responsibility'. Light a candle at the altar of 'I refuse to assimulate and become an
American'. Pray a novena of 'the government owes me everything'. Make middle class whitey pay tithes ('reparations')and do penance for the sins
of some people who lived hundreds of years ago. Expect middle class whitey to be 'humble' and not bring up the fact that it was white Americans who
fought to end slavery and that many white American ancestors died in the liberation. Victimhood temple holy days - ______ (fill in the blank) history
month celebrations for the perpetual 'victims'. Victimhood temple anthems - RAP 'music' about how bad whitey is and about shooting cops
rhythmically pounded into the brains of youth.
Temple of victimhood theme song (to the tune of Dr. Pepper)-
I'm a victim,
You're a vicitm,
Wouldn't you like to be a victim too?
Be a victim,
no responsibility.
Be a victim,
get a free handout.

yes. It's really sickening.
America opens it's heart , and our wallets, to true victims. For example, when 9/11 happened and when hurricane Katrinia happened (as well as the
big overseas Tsunami, etc) we Americans opened our hearts, our homes, and our wallets to help those who were real victims. Millions upon millions of
donated dollars poured in to charities and through our tax money in government aid. Volunteers helped. Children collected money in schools.
Business' collected money and donations, and they donated out of corporate funds as well. The response was amazing. All this to help people in
their time of need. All to help pick them up and dust them off so they could go out and help themselves. (because in the end that's what it is all
about - we have to take care of ourselves)
When people make a business out of victimhood it seriously takes away from those who have REALLY been victimized.
(D) Gov. Richard Lamm called the abuse of the term victim - 'The cult of victimology' and 'A grievance industry'. This was one of the points in
his speech that, when added to the others, would destroy America. He was right. Shakedowns in the name of 'victimhood' have become an industry. A
rather lucrative one for the high priests of the victimology cult, such as Jesse Jackson. The cult of perpetual victimology is based false premises
and does nothing to build up America. It does everything to tear it down.

FF,
There has been developing an entire culture of the "I'm not responsible for my well being or actions, it has to be someone else's
fault/responsibilty."
This is readily apparent on several other threads and, by all indications, no amount of common sense is going to change it for those mired in the
"Victim Culture."
It has become so PC correct now to blame our own personal actions and failures on some unseen and obscure force...
"I killed him because I was abused as a child."
"I can't get a job because the white man is holding me down."
" I abused that child because my father whipped me."
"The cops were profiling me that's why they found the dope, not because I had it."
On and on and on and each time it seems to just get more ridiculous. Yet we just sit back and allow this Victim Culture to expand and grow and become
more and more acceptable. The ACLU continues to expand our definition of politically correct until there will be no personal responsibility for
anything we do...
If anyone ever doubts it, go look at some of the threads and see what all is being blamed on someone or something else..
The Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves...
This country was built and founded on self reliance and the principles of self reliant men and women..
What are we now?
A nation of wimps...
