Hi,

Well, the wife and I are all set for a 7 day vacation to Anaheim California in April.

We're going to go to the 2 Disney parks, Universal Studios and a one day drive down the coast to San Deigo for the Zoo.

We've got a couple of days set aside for sight seeing in and around L.A.
Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, Mulholland Drive, etc.

If anyone lives there or has visited... I'd like your input on what to see, what to do, oh yeah and the places I might want to avoid... etc.

Thanks...

If you're driving, try not to arrive in LA @ 8 in the morning or you'll sit on the highway for at least an hour. Traffic is at a standstill at that time of the morning there. If you go to Anaheim, avoid the "local church" group. They are a cult of religious conservatives bent on having you "join the body of christ". Their headquarters (where the most zealous members live) frequent the colleges, high schools, malls and will accost you anywhere. Their leader, now deceased, is Witness Lee and though they profess Biblical teachings, they really only want you to read Living Stream Ministry books put out by Witness Lee. Run away! (but not to LA at 8 in the morning.)

There's also some great museums.

MOMA and the La Brea Tar Pits is pretty cool.

Also down near USC the Museum of Natural History is really good.

You may also want to do the "Hollywood" thing and I hate to say it but the Hollywood/Highland complex is (although touristy) lots of fun because it's right in the heart of everything.

Gromans chinese theatre is right next door also nearly across the street is the roosevelt hotel which is very old timey hollywood but has been hipped up recently and very cool for cocktails and appetizers (really good fried calamari).

Also there's a museum somewhere on Hollywood blvd, I apologize I can't remember where or what its called but it's an entertainment museum and they offer tours.

They have things there like one of the bridge sets from the star trek movies and the cheers set and things like that.

Hope that helps.

See the San Diego zoo extension and Balboa Park. I visited La Jolla, and got to go to Anaheim (Knotts Berry Farm). I think the museum mentioned in theis thread is the one I went to....it was like 20 years ago.

Also went to see the Palomar observatory.

Fun trip.
