Should Tubby Smith be fired?

Growing up in the great state of Kentucky, there is one thing that you know, the University of Kentucky has had the best basketball program EVER!

After his dismal performance for the past decade it looks as if Tubby Smith can't get the team back to Kentucky standards.

After Kentucky is ousted from the tournament in the first game by Villanova, Kentucky will have gone it's longest in school history between Final Fours.

This is something that we Kentucky folk find unsetteling.

Something needs to be done to this program and it needs to begin with the ousting of Coach Tubby Smith!

I like Tubby Smith...but you do have to wonder.

His recruiting is suspect. At a school with the tradion of a Kentucky you should be able to do much better than he does.

It's sneaking up on 10 years since he won his only NCAA tourney (with Patino's recruits).

He hasn't signed a McDonald's All American since 2004.

I think he's a good coach...he just doesn't attract the top talent.

His recruiting is something to be questioned. Although I do believe that are a few freshman on the team now who could potentialy be threats in a few years. Derrick Jasper and Jodie Meeks are just a few.

And you are right, Tubby won his championship with Patino's team.

Something must be done!

He should quit and go somewhere else...somewhere where he is appreciated for the coach he is..somewhere like Minnesota...
Then and only then will Kentucky get what it deserves a lame coach because no body else is stupid enough to take the job.

Hmm, looks like you posted this after Tubby decided to leave for Minnesota.

Stupid enough to take the job? Are you serious? Kentucky is the Carnegie Hall of College Basketball.
