Ok, I'm not sure if this has been said or not, as I have'nt read the
whole thread, and its late..
But would it be possible to have the profile link in the bottom of posts,
like where the MSN and other messanger things is?
I say this because it really does disrupt the flow of the miniprofiles,
and honestly looks sort of tacky in them.

What about if clicking the username at the top of the miniprofile brought you to the person's full profile instead of their 300 most recently
authored threads?

That's a good idea.
It would solve the disruption, and would be more useful than showing
the last three-hundred threads made.
That, and it actually makes sense that clicking on the persons name
would link to there profiley thing.

I'm a little confused as to who to add to "My respected foes".
Not sure if implies any insult.
My intrepetation is people worthy their arguments though I don't agree with them. Contrary the few members I don't feel worth mentioning.

OK, I give up... I don't know how to add friends & foes... Yet another mystery to solve… By the time I get the answers they change the questions...
Edit:
Nevermind... I just found it.... (And I jsut became someone's friend. Cool. I was expecting to be on some foe lists... )

This is the context of a "foe."
My Respected Foes
These are my worthy adversaries who keep me on my toes.
I wouldn't take being added to a foe list as an insult.

Ok, I was editing my profile, and I noticed something.
All the text is nearly the same colour as the background,
making it impossible to read without highlighting it.

That appears to be a "light" setting issue. In the "Dark" setting, the text shows up.
I'm sure that issue will be fixed soon.

I got a u2u from Gemwolf that said don't reply, I spent a little time figuring out the new toy, then I saw the nifty new banner at the top of his
mini profile.
I think it's kinda cool, but I'll see how it works before I pass judgment.

This new feature seems good to me, such a fun idea, and immense amounts of going round making the list of friends seems inevitable.

You go to the members profile that you want to add, and on the left there will be a button for both friend and foe.
I assume thats what you want to do.

Bug - Friend Links
Using the "Light" board customization, Friend Links that have been visited in this new profile thingy are the same color as the background, making
it impossible to read the names unless you highlight the area.
Other than that, this new feature of ATS is cooler than liquid nitrogen.

If designated....
A bifurcation of the ATS realm will occur if friend and foe are offered as optional designations...
This could mean (dare I say it) abuse of "The Force"????
This could also mean a potential diminution of idea propagation. This board, while in my opinion not always constructive or the best outlet for anger,
would only become a greater stomping-ground for negative energy were the social aspects of communication limited to good and bad.
In other words, practice regular forgiveness and go out and grab a "hamburger" with a friend every once in a while. It's almost Spring.
In fact, anywhere in the world at any given time, it's probably almost Spring. We're having a Global Warming, are we not???!!!!!!

The text-color issues should be resolved.
The Issue Of Friends Versus Foes
The "Foe" designation is certainly unique to the concept of online social network building, but integral to life on AboveTopSecret.com.
We're different... or at least we try to be.
While most other online communities strive for a same-flavored group of "protected" people with similar thoughts and beliefs that rally the troops
to surround and humiliate any interlopers who may think different... we know that is the path to ignorance and intellectual stagnation.
We welcome and encourage contrarian thinkers to bring their ideas and mental challenges. We need to be challenged, we can't grow without it.
We all have members we dislike on ATS, BTS, and AbovePolitics.... either through their behavior, political leanings, or theories, we find our foes
here. But we know that they challenge us to either learn how to engage such people, or even better, teach us new ideas through heated debate.
Given what we all hope to achieve through using ATS, I would think foes are far more important than friends... but that's just me.
