Ok, where exactly does it say the middle east, or north america for that matter. All it says is the name of some rivers and land. For all we know those rivers could be in china. It is not uncommon for people to name a place or a thing after some other place or thing. For example the river Euphrates could have been named after some other river that was remembered from another place a long time ago.

And according to the bible it is protected by a flaming sword?

Also it didnt rain, a midst came forth from the ground, so these rivers may have been fed from an underground spring or something.

Something else I was thinking, the bible said a river went out of eden to water the garden and from thence it was parted and became into 4 heads.
Dont rivers usually flow the other way?

Uh... No. They didn't. According to the Bible, Adam got made from the dirt by God, and Eve was made from one of Adam's ribs.

Maybe he means after they got in trouble. Like, they were sent to earth for punishment.

Who's to say migrating people didn't just name landmarks after a similar one back home?

What we call the Euphrates now may in fact be the latest in a long line of rivers that some wandering nomads dubbed "Euphrates".

Case in point, how many towns named Jerusalem are there in the United States? Are any of these "the" Jerusalem? 'Course not.

Eden is in the Sahara, prior to the Nile changing course and hte Sahara turning to desert.

Research into the events of Noah's Flood are clear that the entire surface of the Earth was erased and re-written. No part of the ancient world remains except what was on the Ark and embedded in coal seams.

There is quite a bit embedded in coal, however. Human artifacts in stuff that supposedly takes 250 million years to form????

Or maybe it doesn't.

Well, yes and no. Place names in comparatively recent history (the last millennium) have been re-used as a part of conquest. A way of marking land as "belonging" to a group by calling it the same names as in the homeland. However - and it's a big however - river names in particular are a bad example, as it is usual for the names of rivers to be about the most ancient names given, and what history tells us is that ancient names get passed on through subsequent inhabitants of the regions in question.

Where we have already-ancient names for rivers, such as the Euphrates, it is a very large supposition to suppose that for some reason in very ancient times this trend in hydronymy was different, and that the same names were used for many different rivers. For a start, it makes navigation, description of geography and communication very confusing in a culture that has no maps or compasses.

Here is a very brief article: en.wikipedia.org...

As linguistic items, hydronyms are very conservative, with successor peoples often retaining the name given a body of water...

Best wishes.

Where did you here about this basic information and how do you get kicked out of something spiritually ? Just curious.

Also, if God put a protective angel at the entrance with a omnidirectional flaming sword wouldnt that protect it from anything including floods ?

There must have been a garden somewhere because you just dont pass a story down for thousands of years for the heck of it and not have some basis. Does the bible ever really say the garden was on planet earth or do we just assume ?

Earth is the Garden of Eden, its where the knowledge meets up with adam and Eve in creation. The apple represents Earth the sweet life and the color appeals to the heart.Earth is the heart of the Universe.Adam was a proto-type planet/human along with Eve.And Eden is the creators OF this Universe. In which it should be the Gardens of Eden or Garden of EDENS.Adams and Eves were nurses and caretakers of Earth, Edens garden. And when they bit into the apple, that was sharing earth knowledge on a duality basis together.Adam and Eve had there own planet and Earth was that one.

Yes I agree somewhat but for some reason, almost like a deep instinctive feeling buried deep in my brain, I feel like Mars was Eden. Try looking at all the information in a larger scale. Maybe our universe is the map.

The Garden of Eden was a hunter-gatherer society ....... The 'Fall' represents the shift to a farming society, possibly in consequence of regional climate change.

Or maybe it's just another 'just so' story ("Daddy, why do we have to toil in the fields all day?" "Well Son, you see once upon a time .... "

The Garden of Eden is a street in the village of Eden, just outside Carrickfergus, N.Ireland.

Seriously though, wouldn't it have been destroyed in the flood?
