I hear he's gonna throw his hat in the ring. I hope he does. He's charismatic, well spoken, and is well versed in our legal system, as well as the inner workings of the Senate. He speaks a zillion times better than Clinton could ever dream of. He'd make Bush look like the idiot so many people believe him to be. His demeanor would command the respect of the entire world. Fred is not a pansy by any stretch. I believe he could bring this country together better than Reagan even thought possible. Hillary and Obama are a joke compared to Fred. Who wouldn't vote for this guy?

I agree, I have always liked this gentleman's demeanor, as well as his acting
I would consider voting one last time before Amerika is truly realized if he does in fact run.

I guess nobody has found anything out. (Or maybe this is a deserted island?)

I am really looking forward to learning more about him. From what I hear, he is the only true conservative toying with the idea. Again, I have a lot of homework to do.

My father met him a couple years ago and really liked him personally. It was a social gathering of business men and Mr Thompsen, presumably, was himself, no entourage or anything. Just a pleasant man.

I'd like to add that if it's true he is really a conservative then he should definately run. A real conservative would win a landslide IMO. Everyone on the right seems to be trying to figure out which of their values they'll need to sacrifice if the current field of candidates holds.

At Hannity.com there is a (strictly non-scientific) poll that has Fred over 48%! He's not even in yet and he's stealing the show. If Newt drops out of consideration I'll bet Fred takes 20% more!

I really hope he runs. I've seen him several times by now and I'm struck by the fact that when he is asked a question, get this, he actually answers it! WOW how refreshing. He seems to have the same rule I do, "If you don't want to know, don't ask me."

Run, Fred Run!

I'm hoping that either Fred or Ron paul can become legit contenders. I know a "LOT" more about Ron however. I'll edit this post later if I can find some juicy articles on Fred.

Here is a nice site that shows where Fred stands on every issue.

Meh... Honestly... To me he seems like just another typical Republican.

If Fred Thompson runs it will be a tossup between him and Newt Gingrich.

McCain, Romney and Guiliani really don't excite me. So it is nice to know there will be other choices!

Well I guess I get to be the token liberal here by posting.

I don't think this man would be a good president, I certainly would'nt
vote for him, I'd rather vote for a piece of pie than him.

He is everything I am against basically.

The real April fools are the current selection of Republicans.

Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich will emerge soon to give the Republicans are real choice.

The real April Fools joke is that the only true conservative is already running. Yet, he gets absolutely no national press coverage.

I like what you have posted about Fred Thompson. Do you think he could raise enough money to make a good run? He would be going up against better known names, could he do it?

I like Ron Paul, to he honest, he represents everything America was founded to be.

I really do. I don't think he needs to decide for a few more months and could still raise enough money. I also have heard that one problem the current field is having during their fundraising is the anticipation most contributers have about Fred's Campaign. If he's in he'll get a lot of money- If he's out, the current field would really like to be able to say that.

Again, I really do. He's media savvy. Americans like that even if they dont realize it. He's recognizable in a good way, no political/social baggage for the New Yorl Times to dredge up.

With the current field, it seems, every voter will have to sacrifice something they believe in order to get behind any of them. If Fred decides to throw his hat in- that issue will be up in smoke.

It would be refreshing to see a straight shooter being interviewed over the next year. I'm telling you, when you see a politician actually answer questions when he's asked you realize how rare it really is.

This article came out today...

Fred Gears Up

I would also like to point out that a lot of the money raised by the current field- both Rep and Dem- have been spent already. It takes money to raise money, as much as 30% of the budget (plane tickets, hotels, food, etc for everyone). Plus you have to pay your staff and consultants too. I wonder how much of the money raised so far is actually left to be spent?

Dread Fred Dems! Run Fred Run!

Fred Thompson Gears Up

Fred Thompson, the “Law & Order” actor and former senator from Tennessee, has moved beyond pondering a bid for the White House and begun assembling the nucleus of a campaign should he decide to run, according to people involved in the effort.

Thompson has not yet decided to seek the Republican presidential nomination. But “he is getting more serious every day,” said an adviser familiar with Thompson's plans.

Gearing up....

I need to research the guy more, but he just moved into a real possibility with me.

If he decides to run, he'd be the only (R) candidate worth any serious consideration. I like Rudy but I don't believe that he can even hold a candle to Fred. He's too far left on alot of issues. I think he did very well on 9/11, but for President? I don't think he's all that. Non of the dems could touch him, they're all a joke. Hillary, Obama, Edwards. If any of those made it in we might just turn into a Socialist country. I have my fingers crossed. Prez. Fred! (I'm ready to put him on Mt Rushmore already.)

Dick Morris gave Fred a lil nudge this week...

Run NOW Fred!

I hope he can get awawy from his Law and Order contract...I don't even know if that's an issue...
