welcome to the team funlovincriminal
thats just the first unit of many hopefully.
I think that it is pretty exciting to know that we are all playing a part in trying to find some proof of intelligent life out there.

thanks, pantha.
as you say, it's exciting knowing we're all part of a collaborative effort to see what's out there.
i'd be great if one of the ATS team was the one who got the first bit of irrefutable proof.

OMG the highest I've ever had was about 300 . I take it that it's a screenshot of your SETI Monitor that you want.
I take a screenshot by pressing control and print screen and then opening paint . I then press control and v and the image is there. I don't know if
there is an easier way of doing it.
I don't think that the peaks are what we are looking for ( I stress I don't think) but thats pretty amazing never the less.

Genya,
Hello....
I have a suggestion.
Perhaps maybe, if you got the time, you could graciously put together a "how-to" for those that may be interested in getting involved with
SETI@home. Maybe a step-by-step type method of going about knowing what is needed to download programs, etc. Maybe on how to join the ATS SETI group,
etc.
Just a suggestion but I would certainly be interested in reading it and would appreciate it also.
I have been interested in this for some time, but never fully knew what was involved with this, etc.
Maybe a ATS FAQ type thing.
Thanks.
regards
seekerof

Hi ECK!!
Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you, my friend but I've been busy doing other things - and yesterdays traffic throught he ATS server was
horrendous!!
You'll see that I *tried* to produce an overview of SETI@home in the same thread, in response to seekerof's suggestion ( posted on 23-12-2003 at
08:17 Post Number: 301344 ) which I *hope* answers any questions you might have?
Of course, the "definitive" guide to SETI@home is on their website, at setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu...
where you can learn all about it!!

Hi Todeskopf!!
Sounds more like a local (Arecibo) case of interference, although always interesting to compare stats!
A program I've found useful to capture screenshots is, well, "Capture". It's free ware and available from
www.analogx.com...
Details are: "Capture is a quick-and-easy screen capture utility for Windows (and NT), which allows you to capture the entire screen, at any color
depth and resolution, and save it into a Bitmap file for editing. If you are interested in only capturing one window, you can select to capture the
active application window only, to save time editing screenshots! Capture runs on the Windows Tray (the lower right corner), and takes a screen
capture every time you left click on the picture of a camera (please cut me some slack on the icon, I'm a musician, not an artist, and it was late),
and a bitmap will be saved into the directory Capture is running from. You can take as many captures as you want, limited only by your imagination,
and harddrive space. To exit Capture, just right click on it, and select 'Exit'; it's just that simple."
It also runs very well under WinXP, incidentally. It might be what you're looking for??

Hi AS!!
Sorry to hear that you've got problems with your machine
Have you looked at our link www.abovetopsecret.com...
where some of us mention (freeware) programs, etc, that can help "clean" your machine up?? Please have a look and see if any of that helps you - if
you have any further questions, please advise - I'm sure the team can assist!!

Cheers paperclip!!
When you go to the team page, you click on "join". This will prompt you for your account name (the one your registered with SETI@home) and *also*
your SETI@home password. Now *I* have never known this, as its an alpha-numeric password which I can only imagine SETI@home assigned when I
joined??
However, there's a link for "Forgot password?" which you can click and this sends the password to you, at the email address you used when you first
signed up. That will retrieve it and send it to you automatically and, hopefully, you can "copy and paste" into your "Join" account....
We look forward to seeing you on the team pc!!
Good luck - any problems, please get back in touch!!
