Did anyone see a bright flash on the moons surface just before totality?
I captured the flash on my camcorder.

lmao...as much as i loath one-liners, that one was good.

my guess would be that it was either

a. very high air traffic or maybe a satellite passing between the earth and moon.

b. the mirror left up there by nasa. i dont know that much about it, so i dont know if a flash from it would be visible from the earth. any experts here?

Best thing I can think of is a brief burst of sunlight refracted through the atmosphere. Like the occasional flash observed at sunset.

Like the bright flash in a picture in this thread?

Are you refering to when the moon came out of the earths shadow? if so the sudden change in light appears like a flash. The same happens in a solar eclipse
