If John Edwards is a fa*got then Mann Coulter is obviously of the male persuasion with her big meaty throat and giant baseball player hands. Lol.
total and complete career suicide. Goodluck with that comment, Anne. You are a political pornographer.

Coulter responds!
Caution: This is from the NY Times so it may not be true!
nytimes
Ms. Coulter, asked for a reaction to the Republican criticism, said in an e-mail message: “C’mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by
suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean.”
Keep it up Ann, you are awesome!

I find some responses here surprising.
I don't think the issue is that she represents right wing views. Just because you're partisan doesn't mean you should be supporting this,
regardless of who she said it to.
If Ariana Huffington was speaking at a conference and called George Bush a "homo" or Dick Cheney a "fudge packer" everyone would be going all
crazy. You just don't say stuff like that.
Slurs don't have a place in public discourse, at all. It doesn't matter if you're left, right, or center.

This is all too funny.
The left can make death threats at Huffpost, Kos DU and show up here calling ChimpyMcHitlerburtonBush all sorts of things but let a righty that
specializes in snark make a bad joke and the whole world comes tumbling down.
John Edwards is a closeted homosexual. Outing him to the general public is poor form on Coulter's part, sad that it brings out such angry vitriol
here.

No offense Roper, but if you find anything funny about her use of that word, regardless of context, then I think you may need to re-evaluate your
sensitivity module. What's next....? Black jokes? As long as the delivery is on? Not trying to be a prick or single you out but that is the type of
thinking that sets humanity back IMHO. peace

Bill Maher made a statement saying he was sorry the terrorists failed at getting Cheney.
newsbusters.org...
The left can wish for assasination of our leaders, but let a conservative call a "girly-man" a "faggot", and all hell breaks loose. Where are
their priorities?
During the 2006 elections, Democrats and Gay Groups where actively trying to out Republicans. But once again when the shoe is on the other foot???
What would you people out there rather be called...Hitler...or gay?
Double standard? I think so.

”Attention all paid-for-posters, here is your current mission:
Create a strawman. Present this Newsbuster.org link that we have created for you and make it appear as though all Liberals demand Mr. Coulter retract
the fagot statement and they support the assassination of the VP. Even though this is a ridiculous assertion, dimwits will buy into it.”
Funny thing is Bill Maher never even made the statement and never said he’s sorry the Assassination Attempt on Dick Cheney Failed
Maher: But I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people wouldn’t be dying needlessly tomorrow. (applause)
Scarborough: If someone on this panel said that they wished that Dick Cheney had been blown up, and you didn’t say…
Frank: I think he did.
Scarborough: Okay. Did you say…
Maher: No, no. I quoted that.
Frank: You don’t believe that?
Maher: I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.

Adam's Apple? Well, since we are pointing out defects amongst these people, I think Hillary has ankles the size of tree stumps. Still, the reason the
left attacks Ann Coulter so much is because she is ACTUALLY very intelligent and on the "wrong" side. She's way more often than not got her facts
straight and the left hates this.
What is funny is the Left resorts to name-calling far more frequently and sooner than the Right. Just look at all the Bush-bashing! Edwards is an
idiot. Not a homosexual. BUT, the way Ann used it was an insult (duh). I wonder what the fuss is about? I've watched an episode of "Will and Grace"
where the gay character was happy and proud to be called a "fa*got! I wish I could keep all this PC stuff straight! Anyway, should that not be
interpreted as a compliment? I need a liberal to help me on this......and...maybe help raise my family too!
Ann Coulter is awesome!

Ann Coulter is awesome!
I also saw a afro-american call another the N-word, and guess what? He seemed happy about! I wonder what would happen if you or I called him that? So
does what you said in any way justify Ann Coulter using that word? Was the word meant to be derogatory even if used in jest? Ignorace is not an
excuse, in your case or hers IMHO.

They're words. Jumbles of letters with commonly accepted meaning assigned. Anyone who has a problem with words is a [insert derogatory word here].

Well I guess you can start with the ops of ATS since you are not allowed to use those types of words. I believe they are generally accepted as fairly
intelligent individuals. And seeing as how you fail to comprehend that, I would say it places your way of thought on the opposite end of that
spectrum.

All of you who say keep it up Ann and that you are awesome.... do you have any idea how vicious and hateful her statements really are and do you
really think such statements from her and others make the conservatives and republicans look good? Do you really think that it does anything good for
the country? More important...do you do any good for the country backing such bigotry and hatred? Finally to those who call yourselves Christian,
fundamentalist or not, do you really think Jesus would endorse such foulness?

Coulter is pro-terrorism. She has countless times advocated the murder of an individual or group, as well as wanted forced conversion. She was quoted
as saying, "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."
That can't be the thoughts of a sane woman. Seems every few months, she has to say or do something to get attention.

That was way too many words just to say "You're stupid!" Come on man... You've gotta be more cryptic than that.
Getting all huffy puffy over name calling is just dumb. The defamation of character... eh... there wasn't much of one to begin with. I don't see
where the harm was done.

The real underlying theme here is that the far right is as afraid of Edwards as they are of the latent homosexuality issues among their own
membership. Not that I have a problem with the sexual preferences of others.
First they tried to crucify him over the anti-Christian bloggers he fired. O'Reilly fell all over himself saying it was too late and he knew about it
and didn't do anything fast enough and his campaign was done. But Edwards weathered the storm of criticism and fallout and remained popular in the
polls.
Hillary and Obama are busy shooting it out in Selma this week, and Bill (Clinton, not O'Reilly) is getting inducted into the Civil Rights Hall of
Fame, so Ann had to do something to distract attention from the fact that nobody really likes McCain or Guliani that much.
The fact is, imo, the GOP presidential campaign is pretty much DOA at this point, and Edwards might turn out to be a contender. So they roll out Ann
and she does her usual character assassination job, and everybody blabs about that for a week instead of the real issues of the campaign. Typical
right-wing projectionism aimed at obfuscation.
Reminds me of the Clinton-Bush campaign in '92. It didn't work then and I don't think it will work now. Desperation tactics seldom do.
