U.S missile defense 'Can't stop Russian Systems'

Bruno Gruselle: The anti-missile defense that the Americans are installing in California, Alaska and Europe will not have the capacity to intercept Russia's systems, which are too numerous and too sophisticated. For starters, the U.S. components are not being positioned in the right locations. The missiles that Russia could fire on the United States would pass north, over the Arctic, which is the reason the American base in Thulé, Greenland is where it is. Anti-missile defense aims at protecting U.S. territory against threats from Iran and North Korea. In Poland, there would only be ten interceptors. Only enough to stop an antiquated system.

Uhm... duh? Like it says in the article... our missile defense is not designed to stop a Sov^H^H^HRussian attack. That would be like trying to stop a shotgun blast one pellet at a time.

we have intercept planes.......and do some research on the soviets last missile tests...all failures and imean c'mon.......we dont have anything to stop there missiles and we havent done anything about it in 17 years??? weve got something

The ABM system is designed to at best knock down a limited strike of say 3-4 missiles. They have 12 interceptors and the regime right now is to loft two of them at a given target. Anybody who volleys off more than say 12 missiles will get through even assumin a 1:1 kill ratio for the ABM system which is as optomistic as it gets.

Russia's whining over the system and thier statements about rendering the system useless is just spin and positioning. They can already overwhelm the system if they need to.
