I'm not one to typically defend the US's choice in military conflict... but their military is already stretched thin enough, and I can see a conflict with Burma ending up the same way Vietnam did.

There are autrocities like this going on around the globe, it's not just the US's job to do something about it.

Look at Columbia, they are still having troubles with Geurilla warfare, and nobody has gone in there to stop it... there are some battles that, while it is morally correct to enter them, are at the same time un-winable.
I think Burma is an example of this.

I do not want the US to go into Burma-Myanmar, just to stop lying everyone about the "war for freedom", including the US army. It's a war for the big corporations, and the US army is used. There are people who if you tell them anything else than the official doctrine get very upset

Now that I completley agree with. I know their current war on terror ended with Afghanistan. Anything they do in Iraq and possibly Iran is imperialism, plain and simple.

But don't rely on the US to go to war over a moral issue, they don't do that any more, you'd only be disillusioning yourself by hoping for that.

As for Burma, I feel that it's the British who should attempt the next step towards stabalizing the region, as they seem to be the closest players in that field.
