WASHINGTON -- Garlic -- long touted as a wonder food for treating everything from the common cold to heart ailments -- is one of the most popular dietary supplements in the United States.

But a new study published in the February 26 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine questions one popular notion: that raw garlic and garlic supplements may help lower cholesterol

I use garlic a lot for medication purpose and has been proven to be effective. But this is a bit surprising.

I use L-lysine and Vitamin C combined to lower my cholesterol. I also use fresh garlic in most things that I cook. I think they're all good for you.
I have bacon or sausage every morning and I cook my eggs in the bacon or sausage grease (yummy!).
Every time I get my cholesterol checked it shows up normal. I don't take the L-lysine every day and I don't eat garlic every day either. If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... So I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing.
