The idea of enabling the transfer of points between members has come up, but there were concerns about how it would potentially lead to an economic realpolitik that would potentially corrupt our otherwise innocent, pristine and unassailably virtuous membership.

Not to mention how it would open the door for the Illuminati bankers to take over ATS.

Still, that doesn't mean it can't happen. Perhaps someone will bring it up at the next Bilderberg Group convention.

Now, if we could come up with a way to transfer ponies between members...

Meanwhile, on a slightly less equine note, I just wanted to second those who mentioned how easy it is to get points on AbovePolitics.com (formerly PTS).

Good posts can get applause worth 1500 PTS points a pop, which ain't shabby.

Good topics that get featured can also get 1500 PTS points, even if the OP itself isn't anything to write home about.

And there are other ways...

Rumor has it that there are still some unclaimed next-generation easter eggs just lying around waiting to be discovered.

I used to have a BTS defficit as well. It happened when I accedently used combined points in the store once. Ill never make that mestake again. but I worked hard and got my points back in the black so to speak.

It is possible. there are some realy fun games on BTS that you can get into that gets you a point per pop whenever you post to them and people post to them all the time I think there are like 5 games going on on BTS that are pretty simmilar in nature that don't require you to post a huge article about something to earn your point.

Now that that's out of the way, I'd recommend making general posts in BTS. You can just go in and reply to a load of topics, most of which are pretty darn interesting.

And you've been asked before, but why 20,000?

the humbleone... i don't use my points 1)because im lazy 2)because i dont see anything i want to spend them on. If you want to send me a cheque, i will happily allow the mods to transfer my points to your account.. however they do not come cheap...

Well JackofBlades, I just figured it's an adequate amount and should last me quite a while.

well I said it before and it's not just me but all SME can give out 1500 points, I just transfered 1500 points to the author of this thread Why don't we have more Geothermal Plants?

I once had BTS points to spare. I too combined points for access to something & lost them all. In fact I am still in the negative in BTS. While points mean nothing really, I just figured I would share in your pain.

In all honesty, I don't think it's that hard to get applauses, just get something you are interested in, and write a fair bit about it, as long as the quality is good you might get an applause or two.

Although 20,000 worth of applauses is quite a target, you might need a different method.

Yes, podcasts are still 2500 per. They're easy to make and can become addictive. It took a 12 step program to get me to stop
