US town to set time limit for dog barking

Source Link: newsinfo.inquirer.net

CLIFTON, N.J. -- The city of Clifton is not going to the dogs. At least not if the City Council has anything to do about it.

Later this month, the council is expected to introduce an ordinance setting a limit on how long dogs can bark.

Another rediculous law doomed to failure
Just what the local police don't need I would imagine, tied up all the time investigating barking complaints.

I think that time limit is going to be hard to enforce. Just like the dozens of other laws on the books locally.
And, how do you prove it? Not to mention neighbors who just don't get along and will do anything to irritate each other, even if it means lying.

What should not be allowed to happen is barking all day long and late into the night, and owners that mistreat and ignore their pets.

Having a time limit on how long my dog can bark is not a problem.
Teaching him to tell time is going to be the hard part!

All the dogs in town are gonna want a time piece now.
They'll be showing off their new Timex to the other dogs while out for walkees, and you just know some fancy dan of a poodle will get mugged for their Rolex.:shk:

You would think a law like this would already be covered in the noise by-laws.
