Some are now calling him the worlds most powerful MobBoss.

1. He took a page from Hitler who blamed Communist for a fire his people started. Many believe he was behind several bombing of apartment buildings in Moscow to blame Chechen seperatist (300 died).

2. He had Galina Starovoitova killed. Whe was an outspoken member of Duma who investigated Putin on corruption charges before he became president in 98. She was shot 3 times after leaving her apartment

3. Yuri Shchekochikhin and Sergey Yushenkov were killed for investigating the FSB's (Federal Security Service-Domestic-Think FBI) role in the Moscow apartment bombings.

5. The failed executions of Viktor Yushchenko who poisoning left him facially scared. He was campaigning versus a Putin backed opponent.

6. 10 Members of Russian Parliament who refused to toe party line. One an Anonymous source said, "Amagine the FBI killing Congressmen".

7. I sure we all have heard of the death of Alexander Litvinenko former Russian spy who wrote a book about Putin. He was posioned with the radioactive element polonium-210. He died three weeks later. It all happened on British soil.

original A Blog for all
Ivan Safronov, the military affairs writer for Kommersant, died Friday after falling from a fifth-story window in the stairwell of his apartment building in Moscow, officials said. His body was found by neighbors shortly after the fall.

With prosecutors investigating the death, Kommersant and some other media suggested foul play.

Russian Intelligence Expert Takes A Bullet

It's rather obvious the Russian KGB are diversifying their portfolio when it comes to execution methods.

Of course shootings and poisonings take the joint top spot, but falling off fourth floor apartment windows comes in a close second.

Those kind of hazards tend to take you out - like, permanently - as Ivan Safronov, 51, an ex-colonel and journalist for Kommersant who had irritated the Russian FSB (formerly known as the KGB) security service with his frequent exposes found out a little belatedly.

Of course, back in Moscow, it is being dismissed as 'suicide'.

I wonder when all is said and done how many more accident and suicide there will be

Ineresting to say the least. You know what they say, once KGB, always KGB. Did you listen to the NPR radio series about called the Rise of Russia or something to that effect? A very interesting listen. Opposition members are dropping like flies in Russia, not to mention recent "reforms" in regional gubernatorial elections.

Putin doesn't try and change the law so he can "Serve" another term. I bet he will still run things in the background with a hand picked puppet for the future if not.

Everyone obviously isn't scared of Putin considering most want him to take a third term and he has a huge majority approval rating.

Menatep director Stephen Curtis dies in helicopter crash in Great Britain
Menatep Director Stephen Curtis died in a helicopter crash near the Bournemouth airport in Great Britain late yesterday evening. Curtis replaced Platon Lebedev late last year as Menatep director when Lebedev was arrested on tax evasion and fraud charges.
British police for the time being have refused to comment saying that information about Curtis' death must first be delivered to his relatives. Curtis' helicopter was flying from London and crashed 1.5 kilometers from the Bornmuth airport. Rescue workers discovered two bodies at the crash site. The other body has not yet been identified. According to witnesses, the helicopter exploded in the air and crashed to the ground.

Putin quizzed over Russian deaths
RICHARD BALMFORTH AND MIKE ECKEL IN MOSCOW

VLADIMIR Putin, the Russian president, told his people yesterday that he would retain influence after he steps down in 2008, his strongest signal yet that he plans to take on another high-profile role in politics.

In his fifth question-and-answer session with the Russian people since he assumed power in 2000, Mr Putin, 54, fended off speculation that he might be considering a way to serve a third term in office after 2008.
