Just learned something about editing posts

Topic started on 23-2-2007 @ 02:50 AM by interestedalways

When you find the need to edit your post it does tend to take away from the overall effect if you do it more than once.

Some people would find deleting the extra ones to be an obvious solution to over-editing displayed at the bottom of your post, but I didn't even discover I could edit for several months of visiting and posting on ATS, so go figure.

Well, just do one last edit and erase all the other history of edits.

This will clean it up rather nicely.

Yes that is good advice I feel.

I usually do that, but on one occasion at least I have changed it to say something impossible eg [edit on 23-2-207 by apex]

You can also add a disclaimer:

This edit is meant for educational purposes only.
Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is purely coincidental.
For off-road use only. As seen on TV. One size fits all.

Some changes are better than others too....

I just say leave all the edit tags in the post.

Unless of course you are trying to hide your edits.

All you have to do is delete the edit markers.. No one will ever know that you actually edited, unless they pay close enough attention to know what your original post stated word for word.
