Iran probing for Responces????

Iran is stepping up it's probing of US and Iraq respone to incursions into Iraq waters.

Yeah, those pesky Iranians. Nothing to do with assessing the situation with all the US floating arsenals so close to their shores

Seriously, how edgy would the US feel with the Chinese navy steaming round the Gulf of Mexico with ships and subs full of cruise missiles?

The massive US presence is there for a reason, which is simply to provoke and hope the Iranians are dumb enough to attack first. If the Iranians don't bite then a manufactured incident might be the catalyst to use all the assembled hardware. The US even having all that hardware there is an aggressive act.
The story that it is there to protect Gulf shipping from Iranian attack is ridiculous as Iran has only stated it will attack shipping if attacked first by Israel or the US. If you poke an angry dog you'll get bit, so isn't it better to just avoid the angry dog in the first place if it isn't threatening you?

I dunno, I reackon there testing, and taking note of the time frames, the response and so forth of american/iraqi naval forces when a boat is deemed ' suspicous '
