I've just watched the film close encounters of the third kind (again) and was wondering if the armed forces of any country had really "staged" an accident to hide what they were doing, like we see in the film?

If they have already would they really use a nerve agent as an excuse or would they use a radioactive substance?

And would they go as far as killing the local wild life and domestic animals to make the show more realistic?

I've often wondered the same thing.

especially after joining ATS and watching Close Encounters a few days ago !

the end of the movie when they let the "abductees" off the ship and take more aboard, I'll bet that has really happened, just the way it was portrayed on the movie !
