Absolutly no piece of evidence in that video, why do so many people believe that they watch on TV or video?

Ok.

Ex-Agent: CIA Seed Money Helped Launch Google

An ex-CIA agent has gone further than ever before in detailing Google's relationship with the Central Intelligence Agency, claiming sources told him that CIA seed money helped get the company off the ground and naming for the first time Google's CIA point man.

We regularly highlight Google's damaging role in aiding the march towards a big brother society, but the admission that Google were planning on teaming up with the U.S. government to use microphones in the computers of an estimated 150 million-plus Internet active Americans to spy on their lifestyle choices and build psychological profiles which will be used for surveillance and minority report style invasive advertising and data mining, astounded even us.

Google has acquired 3D mapping company Keyhole for an undisclosed sum,

Last Febuary Keyhole received an investment from In-Q-Tel, the CIA's no-profit investment fund. EarthViewer isn't the only Google technology that's useful to the intelligence community, of course, there's Gmail, too.

That is according to some things i read a couple of years back. To tired and its to late right now for me to dig up that infrmation. If i think about it after i get some sleep, ill try and find something on this, unless someone else beats me to it.

But, the new search engine wouldn't have all these years of search engine data use stored somewhere, and ready to sell.

So, what if something like this WAS true? Even if it isn't the exact scenario. What if they just decided to give away all the data they have, or might have, to the powers that be?

What could we do any way?

Eventually, there is going to come a time, and I think, rather soon, when people are going to realize that we are being led around by the nose, the government is not doing what is best for us, and, as a matter of fact, they may even have some bad plans for some or most of us.

By then, I don't think there are many people left out there, that will even remember how to take a stand. Not just a lip-service stand. I mean, really ready to stop what is happening.

Personally, I think we all had better start looking to religion, God and the Bible. Because, I don't think we are going to be able to help ourselves.

We are pretty much screwed.

Exactly, the government intalled the anti-religion stuff, IE: Evolution, Big-Bang, new definition of science. You can argue til your blue in the face about whether its right or wrong but it has created atheism, in a large % of the world population.

If people were more religious then by reading the bible you would see wat was unravling and it would be stopped.

Athiem = Emo's = Me pissed off.

How is that?

99.9% of athiests are fags, they all try to present themselves good people but they always end up acting like fags, your just ignorrant, you don't need to even go church, have your own damn beliefs about religion.

I think it is worrying, irrespective of whether it's Google or anyone else. As mentioned, information is the new form of power..control it, and you can control minds. Entire populations.

Up until now the Internet has largely been a public system, however with the emergence of these private, corporate interests attempting to change the backbone of this system, I think we're in for stormy weather ahead.

I don't want a corporate policy residing over morality, controlling the media or misrepresenting the views of others in favour of it's own agenda.

A prison planet.

altavista.com and alltheweb.com are NOT alternatives to Google and Yahoo, since they are under the possession and control of one of these.

The best I found among the independent web search engines is Search.com. Webcrawler seems interesting but the Infospace corporation that's behing it seems a little Big Brotherish.

OSS.net has an interesting article on this subject:

While Fending Off DoJ Subpoena, Google Continues Longstanding Relationship With US Intelligence

Is Said to be Part of Secret Data-Mining to Identify Terrorists

By Anthony Kimery in Homeland Security Today

WASHINGTON, DC, JAN. 26, 2006 – While Google, the enormously popular search engine, is refusing a Department of Justice (DoJ) subpoena to turn over its records in a pornography-related investigation, it is continuing to cooperate with US intelligence agencies to provide national and homeland security-related user information from its vast databases, according to sources attending a conference last week of intelligence officials.
Google’s alleged secret relationship with the US intelligence community (IC) was divulged by an IT contractor and confirmed by US intelligence authorities familiar with the matter during the OSS.Net IOP conference near Washington, DC. The contractor, who spoke on a not-for-attribution basis, said that at least one US intelligence agency he declined to identify is working to “leverage Google’s [user] data monitoring” capability as part of an effort by the IC to glean from this data information of “national security intelligence interest” in the war on terror.
The intelligence sources, also speaking on a not-for-attribution basis, would not say under what authority the IC had obtained Google’s cooperation, or which intelligence agency is involved. One of the sources did say, however, that the CIA’s Office of Research and Development “has been giving them additional money and guidance and requirements.”
Last November, the CIA - through In-Q-Tel (the venture capital firm set up by the CIA to "identify and invest in companies developing cutting-edge information technologies that serve United States national security interests”) - sold $2.2 million of Google stock.
Robert David Steele, intelligence veteran and CEO of OSS.Net, Inc. which sponsored last week’s event, told HSToday.us Tuesday evening that "Google is being actively hypocritical and deceptive in playing up its refusal to help the Department of Justice when all along it has been taking money and direction for elements of the US Intelligence Community, including the Office of Research and Development at the Central Intelligence Agency, In-Q-Tel [the CIA’s technology venture capital business], and in all probability, both the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Army's Intelligence and Security Command."
Steele added, “I have no doubt that Google, in its arrogance, decided it could make a deal with the devil and not get caught.
“In my view, Google is a public resource and must remain purer than Ceasar's wife. I am sympathetic to Google's rolling over for China and agreeing to curtail some content - that can be reversed later. However, I am very unsympathetic and critical of Google for violating its ‘do no harm’ rule. In my view, a secret financial and secret information sharing relationship with the US Intelligence Community - or any other intelligence community - violates everything about Google that should be sacred, and suggests that we can no longer trust them to live up to their original ethos.”

I would have to disagree with you here considering the fact that a lot of wars are caused by the concept of religions.

Back on topic:

I never trusted google, there's just something about it that doesn't seem right...
And now they bought youtube and they narked someone to 20th century fox for putting full videos of the simpsons and 24 on youtube.

It's almost like the whole internet is google which seems like a government project to over take the internet, the only source the government didn't have control over untill now it seems?

Makes a lot of sense if you think about it, what would be a good way to take control of something they had no control overl like the internet for example?

How about to completely take over it? control all sources of information? they might even call the internet google in a few years...

Of course it does. Maybe not everything, they're not interested in everything, but it definitely collects and reports your information. Whats more, I wouldn't be surprised if by using it you've agreed to have other programs installed, so that you can remove the toolbar, but not those.

Example?

People start the wars, not religion. The person that pulls the trigger kills someone, not the gun.

Otester,

Let's not get into this on this thread it's not even the subject of the thread ok?

I suggest you do research on your own on religious wars.

Peace.
