Who Is Al Franken

Franken was born in New York City into a Jewish family,
which may have a detramental effect in his run for senate .
Grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, in suburban Minneapolis.
He attended Saint Louis Park High School until the 10th grade.
He graduated in 1969 from The Blake School,
where he was on the wrestling team.
He attended Harvard University and graduated cum laude in
1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in government.
This was an unexpected personal note .

Franken met his wife, Franni, in his first year at college
at a Harvard-Simmons mixer, and they have been together ever since.
They have a daughter, Thomasin, and a son, Joe
(both attended New York City's prestigious Dalton School).
Joe attends Princeton University and Thomasin
is a public school teacher
in New York City, with a degree in sociology from
Harvard University.
The Frankens reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Franken is a Grateful Dead fan.
He used their songs as bumper music to commercials on his radio show.

His comedy is legendary, but I see there is much more to him.

Al Franken is such an idiot its scary, he should stick with comedy. He's better at it than, he is at politics.

To be totally honest he would make a great Senator. Most of them are so full of $#!! that he would fit right in. From what i've read about his books, radio, etc. he twist the facts to fit his views, then lies about them it they won't fit his views.

Time to back another horse man. I don't care if he's a Demo, or Repub. This guy is a smuck.

um, i don't defend pelosi like that, i defend he by saying she's a good person with reasonable political ideas who is occasionally smeared by people like coulter, limbaugh and o'reilly

Reps and Dems are two sides of the same coin to me. They are all self serving with their own agendas. Al Franken isn't a career politician or Washington insider and the government could do with a fresh face. So good for him. Rush Limbaugh is a hateful, desperate, Viagra addicted NWO shill. Anne Coulter is repugnant and despicable but boy I'd sure like to give her a good spanking.

Rush Limbaugh is not an idiot. He's a bright guy that knows how to pander to those with low to average IQ. The first rule in radio is to "know your audience." And I don't think it was Viagra, I think it was Vicodin.

Concerning Al Frankin, don't just say you read that he's a manipulative liar, give him a listen or a read. I wish I could say I knew something about him, but all I'm aware of is that he's funny. He's not running in my state so it doesn't matter. I did hear him in a few debates with other talking heads and he absolutely gave them a metaphorical tooth smashing. Maybe none of them knew what they were talking about, but Frankin is clearly far more intelligent than Coulter, Limbaugh, and O'Reily

And Ann Coulter is not a powerful woman, I bet she couldn't even take a punch.

Does the Republican party have any pundits that take the high brow approach? I'm sure there are many intellectual moderates that have been completely turned off by the nonsensical WWF-like appeal of the current crop.
