San Diego Federal Prosecutor Carol Lam Wednesday served grand jury indictments, based on her office's investigation that sent disgraced former Rep. Randall Cunningham to prison, on three additional alleged conspirators in the case; Kyle Foggo, Brent Wilkes, and John T. Michael. Ordered to surrender and face trial, the three pled not guilty and arranged to post bail. The charges include fraud, conspiracy and illegal money transfers.
Three men charged with money laundering and fraud in relation to the Duke Cunningham bribery scandal pleaded not guilty in a federal court hearing this morning in downtown San Diego.

Poway defense contractor Brent Wilkes, former CIA executive director Kyle "Dusty" Foggo and Long Island banker John T. Michael were fingerprinted and released at the federal courthouse. Wilkes was given two weeks to raise $2 million bond; Foggo's bond was set at $200,000. Michael's was set at $250,000.

A federal grand jury indicted Wilkes Tuesday on charges of conspiring with Foggo and Cunningham. The charges, which include fraud, conspiracy and illegal money transfers, stem from the same investigation that sent Cunningham to prison.

These charges go on file just two days before Carol Lam leaves her job, forced to resign for pursuing high level political corruption cases like these at the expense of prosecuting drug mules and illegal immigrant coyotes.

That is one of the conspiracies within the conspiracy of the crimes commited by those in power in Washington - their manipulation of our system of justice to shield themselves from the consequences of their actions.

These three new indictments are simply the next rung of the ladder in the trail of corruption and deceit that leads from Cunningham back into the halls of power in Washington D.C. It is a shame to think that this may be as far as the trail leads due to the squirming machinations of those it leads to.

We need another brave individual and patriot like Carol Lam to step forward and pick up the soiled standard of justice and decency, to press forward wherever this trail may lead and root out the criminal element that has infested our nation's leadership and subverted our political process.
