Like I said back then they could wait for days to get a decision but now it's another story. I don't care who the president is these days they all have rats in the whitehouse and if it's GW or BC that's gassed you know someone will leak it. Bubba couldn't even get a hummer without everyone finding out. Imagine if the sitting C&C is a lush and is round dailey. That's the way it these days even your own hand picked people will roll over on you for 15 minutes of fame.


Mmm I do believe Eisenhower was also a notorious alcoholic ... and i don't think he had to wait long for things to come over telephones, tv, the "wire" ....

Presidents make lots of decisions, but most of their day is full of political BS. Well if you are not out at some charity that you don't even know why your there anyways, and you are sitting at the White House, your not doing to much as in decision making. Thats what your Cabinent, VP, Congress is for. National emergencies are one thing, and they dont happen every day.

Aside from that... hearing Bush speak sometimes, I wonder to my self if he has been taking shots of something before coming on stage.
