In the paper today it had about 100 years of flight and had a picture of the Supermarine Spitfire. This got me thinking what is the most beautiful looking weapon ever. I have to say this would get my vote, this and the the cloud that comes with an atomic bomb.
What would you say is?

Don't take me wrong..... I'm not a war protester. I think these weapons are necessary, but certainly not beautiful. I've seen too many of them and they scare the crap out of me. Especially when I have had missiles pointed directly in my face. See my blog under the Black Helicopters.

Hell yeah!!!

Sadly time of battleships is long gone..

I think that largest non-carrier war ships are those of USSR/Russian Kirov class..

And these are 'only' heavy-cruisers..

Ship of the Kirov class..

These have the whole flat fore deck full of vertical launchers for different kinds of missiles..

Budget cuts at the end of the Cold War led to discontinuing the construction of a fifth unit of the Kirov class. At the end of 1997 only the Admiral Nakhimov remained operational and the Admiral Lazarev was said to be slated for disposal because of insufficient funding for needed repairs. The Admiral Ushakov, which had been inoperable since 1989-1990, was stricken in October 1998 to provide material for a refit of the other active unit of the Kirov class, the Admiral Nakhimov. However, on 14 January 1999 the Russian Duma voted the Admiral Ushakov be repaired and restored to service, using funding allocated for other construction and repair projects. The much-delayed Petr Velikiy, which arrived in the Northern Fleet in November 1996 for acceptance trials, was finally commissioned on 18 April 1998

I'd have to vote for meeeeeeeee. Beautiful angles and curves and stuff, happy weapons of destruction, and I was really good at being a weapon of war, too! I was like the sword you always liked hugging just before going to sleep.
