= 3.6 planets..

I did another test to see how much of this is by my own choice, and how much is due to my environment (living in a big city). By eating mainly local food, or as local as is practical in london, installing energy conservation systems, recycling waste, dumping the car in favour of foot or public transport.. oh and not visiting relatives up north (apart from Xmas). I can get it down to 2.4 planets..

The minimum achievable is 2.1 planets if I live in London.. not sure what can be done about that.. pupulation reduction?

I guess nature's going to take it's course.

Only one, after they release the new modified H1N1-1918.

I figure we keep our allies around, but for the rest, we'll have a really big memorial ceremony, put up a few monuments, do it up right. Give it a few years for sanitary reasons, and we can start re-colonizing Africa, India and China.

I nailed 3.2, but I closed the site without copying it. Then again I don't work, because of a disability, so I'm sure that played a major role in my score. Btw, I don't eat without meat

It's full of spelling errors!

Well, I guess that website is just trying to make a point: we're so used to our luxury that we forget we're enjoying it at the expense of others all over the globe. Good for me: only half the population suffers from my style of living

Gotta love statistics.

This is what I have to say. Im glad not everyone lives like me. If Im living the same as some poor african tribe in the congo...we have some problems. By the way, "if everyone lived like you"...what is this some communism manifesto? Not everyone is suppose to live like us, we are wasteful, self centered, uncaring, amoung other things. And you know what, we earned it, so
to your survey.

These '50 earth's resources' type crap fail to take into account the fact that undeveloped countries have a vastly different efficiency of resources. If indeed everyone lived like you or me, those countries would be able to produce goods and services just as well as america does today.

Ah the impact of big city life with little locally produced foodstuffs and owning your own house:

FOOD 5.9

Luckily they didn't ask about how much computer equipment we had.

First, everyone is just blindly accepting these "calculations" as if their validity had been tested and carved in stone. Have they been?

Anyway, here's something to add to the "equation". If every country was as developed as western Europe or the U.S., the birthrate and population in the world would be much less.

Maybe we all might just fit on this planet in that scenario.

111 acres, 25.1 planets. I am proud of those numbers but I need to do more.

My goal is 50 planets. I have some work to do.

True. A nations environment improves and cleans as the per capita income passes US$7,000 (2005 dollars). Birthrates fall as income rises.

Western capitalism is good for the environment.

Good thing not everyone lives like me. Some live better and many many
others live much worse. Being a poor American I can still sleep in my
nice bed in my warm apartment with a full stomache and wake up to an
alarm, lights, TV, and a hot shower followed by breakfast. I don't like
being poor but when you think about it. I have it pretty good compared
to a big percentage of the world population as a whole.
