The link worked a month ago when I posted this.

It was a story about hybrid cars being too quiet and the blind community was apparently very upset and wanted the government to force noise making devices into the vehicles.

Wow, how strange is this? I think that the US should get those microchips that Japan is implementing in Tokyo. This way the blind could be told when to cross in the crosswalk.

When the machinery is too quiet that even a blind guy would get upset.

What they need are motion sensors on their glasses or something. It could be read by a mini-micro chip and tell the user that a car is approaching.
