Im not sure where this gos, so i put it here. . .

I was watching a documentary on the history channel about the samurai, and it says that the U.S. forced open trade with Japan in the mid 1800's. if we had not have done that, then they could not have been involved in WWII.

Even though we did that they still had no right to bomb Pearl Harbor.

I agree with Global, they didn't have any right killing innocent US soliders.

That's not the conspiracy tint that people talk about.

Some claim the US government needed a rally point to get the public behind the War.

Intel suggested there may be a bombing, but nothing like what happened. So it's less that we got caught with our pants down, than the kick was worse than expected.

I've seen shows about how all the new ships were put out to sea, and the old crap pulled into Pearl Harbor... memos went ignored, plus the Japanese could NEVER have moved fleets of ship and craft that close without sending red flags everywhere.

Boats and planes aren't sneaky. Governments are.

That widely held (though not proven) conspiracy theory is why people call 9/11 another Pearl Harbor... an allowed attack to rally round the real target: Iraq.

Sounds like 9-11, the kick was a little bit more than we thought, but the effect, although powerful, didn't last too long either

Wait a second here.

How can they be responsible when they did not do it?

They encouraged it true but they did not do it.

What kind of logic is this?
