Hi all,

A question.

Why when I meditate no matter how long, 20 minutes or a few hours I am always thirsty when I get back to reality?

I have experimented by drinking water, isotonic drinks, tea etc in quantities from 250ml to a litre before meditating and have had the room at different temperatures but I am always thirsty when I get back?

Is this the case with other meditators?

Because you are most likely breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth this will happen. To prevent your mouth from drying out quite so much try keeping the tip of your tongue touching the roof of your mouth. I think I read this hint from Babba Ram Dass, not certain tho.
