New US bomb uses some Russian technology

The new small diameter bomb is the bomb for the new century. But as you can see by the new steering system it uses some Russian steering technology. A hear that these fins take less power to bend.

I think this goes to show that the US and Russia aren't the cold war enemies that some people have made them out to be.
Obviously, by sharing technology and ideas, you are going to be much stronger, and ultimately, both nations benefit and are much more secure.

I think we'll see more things like this, with the US and Russia working closely together.

Russia deosnt like US...

I dont know english name for these kinds of control surfaces..

But what i know is this:

Even with very weak motors these can to much more efficient 'moves' than conventional control surfaces..
(as the 'area' of control surfaces is much, much larger than in conventional designs..)



And these are in use in Russia in operational ICBMs and at least in R-77.
(R-77 is a BVR AAM and its only controls are 4 fins(control surfaces like these.. actually those in that pic you posted look alike direct copies.. the 'fins' that is..)
