I was very saddened to hear of Anna's death. She was a sad and troubled person. People "loved" her for her beauty, for what she could do for them. She had so much pain and struggle in her life. She lost her child while she was having another one. I can't imagine the conflicted feelings. The happiest and saddest things happening in one wekend.

It's not like I had a great deal of respect for her or that I aspired to be like her. But I really don't think she deserves having fun made of her on the day of her death.

Anna
"There was something simple and innocent about her, and everyone, except Daniel, seemed to be out to exploit her. So when he died, you just knew that wasn't going to be good for her."

By idolizing her death and her death alone you are actually showing disrespect to all the other thousands of dead people on the same day she died...

No I'm not. That's your perception and it has very little to do with reality.

This is the most ridiculous hijacking of an ATSNN thread I have ever seen.

If you don't think this merits an ATSNN thread DON'T CLICK ON IT. Period. Someone submitted it, it was voted in, and it's on ATSNN.

This is how we do things here. Enough people found it to be relevant to make it an ATSNN story.

Consider this the official "stay on topic" post. Further off topic debating of whether this is newsworthy, further crude remarks, and other stupidity will receive warns immediately.

I will likely be sanitizing the dead weight out of this thread.

I can not believe that people who think a thread is stupid will post a dozen times in it.

Get over it. If our users vote something in, it's in. You don't like it? We have a few MILLION other posts you can respond to.

That's all.

I agree 100% man. This is rediculous. Its national news. You woulda thought mother tereasa died or something. Right now we have to wars going on with soldiers and civilians dieing daily and this is the headline breaking news? What the hell did anna nicole ever do that as worth a damn beside a few soft core porn vids?

It is for you seeing as you posted in this thread several times, if someone dies who I dont know or care about. I skip the thread, why didnt you do the same?

Shes famous, shes dead and theres a conspiracy angle on this because a lot of things seemingly don't add up.

I suggest you move on rather than try to censor what other people talk about.

Thank you very much Flyer! I couldnt have said it better myself and wouldnt have responded to the likes of that post if not but to thank you.

No offense to anyone, but I don't get the fascination/obsession with celebs. Soldiers and innocent civilians are dieing every day in Iraq and 1000's of other people around the world who actually contributed something positive to society fill obituaries every day.

Yet in the last 3 hours I've seen more coverage on this bimbo's death than I saw the other day when that chopper was shot down in Iraq.

What a shame.

I feel saddened about Anna Nicole also. What a rollercoaster life she had. She always wanted to be slightly like Marlyn Monroe, now she has died like her.

I am not a fan, but my wife was and because of that I know more about her than I would have. Truely a sad ending...

Good bye Anna Nicole. no one deserves such a circus of a life...

As recently proven quite publicly by "Hold your weee for a Wii", you can even OD from water ...

I would say ppl are responding to this because its rediculous that someone who didnt make a dent in our civilized world is all of a sudden being hailed and getting all this publicity on the news as if she was someone of great importance. She prolly OD'd or something. She was a fruit anyways, maybe not cournty love fruity, but still pretty damn fruity. My condolences however go out to the grieving friends and family.

Maybe if some of us would look past the end of our own noses, they would realize that this human being has a baby daughter that is now forced to grow up without a mother. Hating someone because they are a celebrity seems like a bit of sour grapes in my opinion. If you have a problem with it, go over to BTS and create a new thread in the rant forum. Personally, I had to skip most of the ignorance in this thread because it was really irritating me. Our ability to ignore the victim in all of this boggles my mind.

Whether Mrs. Smith was a victim of her own environment or not, none of it means anything at this point. What does matter is the little girl that has been left behind.

sad to hear of anyone's death,

now, as a type of euology, one of ya'll ATS writers should be able
to compose one...

Perhaps do a comparison thing, between Anna N Smith and Marylin Monroe

sorta in the same vein as the "JFK + Abe Lincoln" uncanny & sometimes reversed similarities/connections that accompanied their untimely deaths

I agree, I said something very similar earlier here. Its sad that we are still on two different war fronts where we have soldiers and civilians dieing daily.

Why is this breaking news? I mean this was the chick who married a 90 some year old man for his money! Jesus Christ! Why the hell are we hailing her? This isnt the type of woman I would want my daughter to idolize. Jesus, what the hell is wrong with ppl.

Who is hailing who? Honestly, who the hell is hailing who? Some of us are taking a moment to show a little bit of respect for another human being who has passed on. A human being with a baby daughter who is now without a mother. What is so wrong about that? What god given right do you have to shame on anyone who is taking two seconds out of their day to pay some respects?

You have an opinion on the matter, you are entitled to it. But criticizing someone who has passed on, and criticizing those who are taking a moment to pay some respects is down right wrong.

We all have fans, we all have enemies, when our number is called, I would expect both sides to at least allow me to leave this earth with some dignity. Talking smack of me after I am gone does what? Is it self-serving in some way?

Do you feel like a bigger or better person by shaming on the deceased? Grow up and have a little bit of dignity. Show some respect for the deceased and the family of the deceased.

It is in poor taste to bag someone out like that, then to offer condolences to their family.

What about the Wifes, husbands, daughters, uncles, aunts, sisters and brothers who have lost someone over in Iraq and Afghanistan that actually is trying to make a difference in this crazy F'ed up world we live in? The ppl that are working for the betterment of Iraq and afhganistan?

I just dont see how her death means anymore then theirs, infact I would put the above mentioned ppls death over hers because they are actually accomplishing something worth while.. theyre making the altimate sacrifice. what the hell did anna do besides a few crappy drawn out soft core porn films?

And I guess you hold this almighty power to determine who is worthy of passing with dignity?

Nobody here is saying that the lives lost over seas are not worthy. Hell, I agree with you completely. But, paying respect to a celebrity who has passed on and left a baby daughter behind, does nothing to detract from the attention the lost lives of our troops. Paying respect to Mrs. Smith does what to the memory of our soliders? How does it influence it?

It does nothing! Your argument has no merit whatsoever.

Nothing in our society today surprises me. I watched every television show that exists mock Nancy Pelosi for an uncontrollable stereotypy behaviour on the State of the Union. Mocking a person for something they can not control. Next will be the blind, deaf, and paraplegic. Our society is hitting some new lows. We had our problems in the past, but at least the dead were treated with respect.

Rework your argument and try again. No validity whatsoever.

Edit: I can see some of your recent posts that your frustrated with the media. All that I can say, deal with it. This is a human being. A human being that is deserving of respect. If you do not like the way the media is portraying the event, change the channel. If you do not like the way this thread is progressing, ignore it. Very simple.

I have not read the entire thread yet, but I was very sad when I heard the news of her death. . .

I don't know if somebody have brought this opinion yet, but . . . the only people that will benefit from her death is the family of her late husband and the millions that now they do not have to fight for in court anymore. . .

Just an opinion, sad she lost her older son and now she is next.

Something weird.

Personally i probably couldn't care less about ANS. The thing that disturbs me the most is that this will get more airtime than Iraq, NK, Pa/Israel developments, and other truly important developments combined. I recomend looking deeper at anything going on elswhere in the world while the MSM is fixated on this story. I guarantee we will be just as tired of ANS in death as we were with her in life real soon if not already.

I havn't turned the news on yet since i've come home from work because i know what will be the main story. I'd love to lay the blame solely at the media's feet for the way that they will cover this, but i'm sure that they will get great ratings from their coverage. Amercans have a creepy cellebrity fetish that often does not end at the demise a famous person. I do not dispute that her death is news, and some coverage is warranted no doubt. A blurb on the ticker, a segment in the entertainment section, they have whole shows and cable channels for stuff like this: Entertainment Tonight, E, tons of others. However, once this hits the sheeples mass consciousness,we will have ANS tv on all the news channels for the forseable future. When a nation cares more about the death of a celebrity, who lacked any talent (cept snagging 80 year old billionaires), than what is going on in a troubled world, we truly deserve deserve the madness that the world is devolving into.
