American Terrorists

We are so far technically superior to Russian and Chinese forces that it not funny. You would not want to fight a ground war with either, we know this. If we were to fight it would be are cutting edge machines versus there outdated and not well maintained ones. This is also why it is such a bad thing when China makes a technological advace. Soon they could out man us as well as tech ties us.

Let's get to the point:

OIL!
US needs it, China needs it, Russia doesn't want the US or China to have it.

Oil is the lifeblood of all economic stability and expansion. Economic power controls military power. Military power helps to sway political power.

The US wants to eliminate dictatorships. It's good business since dictators switch allegiances to the highest bidder (Zimababwe is now accepting Chinese help, Venezuela is now looking to Russia, Cuba, and Iran). Democracies are more stable and the people hate wars. Russia and China like dictatorships because when the US asks too much, then they can step in and gain power.

Next point:

The US is hated. Fine...you built the beast world. You allowed Germany, Italy, Japan, and Russia to come to power. The US is the warrior that hasn't come home to peace. It lives in fear because it is always fighting, it is a warrior country until the rest of the world can help convince it to return to a calm state. The stakes are much higher with nuclear weapons...the warrior US knows that.

Insulting the US is like yelling at the soldier coming home from war for being too blunt, irritable, controlling, violent. It is a psychological state and someone who grows flowers and sips coffee will never understand the stresses of what the soldier has gone through. The US can't relate to why the flower grower doesn't pick up a gun and stop things at the first sign of trouble.

The American terrorist is false...it is the American warrior psychological state that needs to be reduced and calmed down. Some Americans get this, some don't and protest that all war is bad...grow flowers! Some say the sky is falling; invade this country, blow up that country...why?...because that's all the US knows. Why talk when you've got 20 stealth bombers that can change your mind? Of course this is unexceptable...but the US has been forced into this way of thinking because it worked on Germany, Japan, Italy, and Russia.


This world is getting crazy. The US needs the democratic world's help, not to unite and kill things, but to calm the US down. Give and take. Insulting people and being anti-American is childish. Just as I think Americans that insult the French or other countries that don't want war is childish. You can hope the US gets in a war with Russia or China and satisfy your hate, but the winner will be the survivor among the three and that country will now dictate to you just like the US did...you've accomplished nothing.

The key is to unite and logically, empathatically, and reassuringly calm the US down...convince the US people that life is good, we are all on the same side, we all want to breathe fresh air, laugh, see our family, and live happily. I don't see that in this thread. I see more inane confrontational talk...more macho talk, more accusations...all a waste of damn time and tied to egos wanting to put their stamp on the world.

Hi Atomic, yes its about Oil and other natural resources but to say America dossent like Dictators is wrong, America has and is supporting despot regimes around the world.

This thread is not about insulting Americans etc. iits about how America's foreign Policy is percieved by others, Some American's may feel their Goverment is doing the right thing but what does your average Russian Chinese, Iranian and others think about it and their respective Goverments. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.

What do you want the US to do to please the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians?

Americans don't like dictators (look at Bush's approval ratings!)...but not every strategic country has a democracy. If they did then Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait would no longer be under the influence of the West. My guess is that by now China would of moved in and offered tech, weapons, and money, much like Russia did to Egypt in the 60s Perhaps the high price of oil keeps America from building it's military machine and the USSR never falls apart...all of Eastern Europe would still be communist.

I dont think its about oil(though its definately a factor), I think its more about strategic positioning advantage against China, the percieved future rival of the US. Think about it, the US can stage out of SK and Japan in the Pacific, Afghanistan in the east, Guam and probably the Phillipines in the Souther Pacific. Say the US does go to war with Iran, occupies the country, and installs a more likemined govt. We would have China basically boxed in, it would be the same policy of containment we had during the cold war with the Russians. Good parallels drawn there in my opinion.

I can see how US foreign policy could be percieved negatively abroad and is no doubt viewed that way by many in our own country. Im sure there are many in every country who dislike the actions of their government, but in the long run all moves made by governments are chosen by which option serves the bests interests of the nation, be that the consequences are negative or positive. Global geopolitics is the international chess game of gaining strategic advantage and following best interests be it good or bad.
