man, I hope this gets rid of my spam.

msnbc.msn.com...

WASHINGTON - President Bush signed the "Can-Spam" bill Tuesday, creating the first federal law regulating spam, a move backers say will be a major step in the war against e-mail solicitations for pornography, Viagra, diet pills, get-rich-quick schemes and the like.

I should point out that this anti spam law is BS. It trumps the state laws, which often have harsher pentalities and provides several loopholes. For instance, the law does not address spaming occuring outside of the country. This is how most spam originates. People in the US hire those outside to spam for them.

Additionally there is some weak language in there: Spammers can only spam those people that have a "relationship" with them. There is no definition of relationship. So, if you buy something from someone, you have a relationship. You can extend this further by saying a retailers friends are your friends ... and you get spammed by them.

I hope he suggests spammers are worthy of execution as well.

No if he could get 50 years to life for telemarkerters.

I'm sure its a lovely bill, but somewhere in it will contain a measure further curbing our freedom of speech.

It looks like a cookie, but its made of crap
