Editors To The Letter
ATS mods do indeed edit posts quite often, but as has already been pointed out, we only do so if there's a good reason justified by the
AboveTopSecret.com Terms And Conditions Of Use, which authorize us to make
changes at our discretion.
In practice, profanity, personal attacks, personal information, ads, threats, allusions to personal drug use, drug paraphernalia, criminal activity,
pornography, solicitations of member information and other violations of the
T&C are examples of things we may edit or remove.
Other common reasons for mod edits include correcting gross formatting errors, excessive quoting, oversized images or the notorious "super-long URL
sporking the page formatting" issue.
We do NOT, however, indulge in editing posts just because we feel like it, to suppress member opinions or to attempt to mislead anyone, and if any
member should suspect this has happened, please include all the details, including the URL of the post in question, in a
Complaint.
And of course there's always this forum to air such concerns in a more public fashion.
