all top secret data is stored and transmitted on secret government internet

I suspect that the government has its own private secure internet thats is not on the same network as our internet that is why there has been no leak of top secret data or info and pics on aliens. we need to find an insider who has access to it and download its files on to external hard drive but i suspect even the hard drives are diffrent from the ones we use some sort of holographic memory system they are also working with quantum computers not the old binary systems. even if the inside person was able to get the info he wouldn't be able to leave the building all the equipment is imbedded with rfid chips that set off sensors and self destruct the data when it is tampered with. The question is how can we penitrate tihis system?

Well, you're sort of right.

There's a tier of secure networks. Some share the civilian pipes but others are moving off of them.

The next tier up is called NIPRNET. That one is military and gubmint but has no secure information.

Up from there is SIPRNET. SIPRNET has its own browser called Intelink. Intelink comes in various 'strengths' depending on what you're allowed access to. Intelink-S is primarily what you use on SIPRNET. SIPRNET is secret and sometimes TS which is not SCI

Up from there is JWICS which uses Intelink-SCI. JWICS is TS and SCI content. JWICS is moving off the civilian net.

At any rate, it's not like you can get in any of them, SIPRNET and JWICS won't let you on without the right stuff. And you're right, you ain't gettin' in, and the really good stuff isn't on servers that can be "gotten to" from the civilian internet. Which should tell you that you're being fed poop when you see stories of hackers getting super secret info.

so what make one person more important then the other and who choses who gets acsess to this info? and are these networks connected around the globe with other top secret government networks or is it a united states defense network? so i guess the the top level tier of the network is related to the alien issues?

This is a very intellegent post. I never really thought of it like that.

The OP's bit sounded like something I saw on a movie, at least once, but to consider several other actually operating networks separate from the one we use is almost like multi dimesional in it's scope.

Well, it's not so much "important" as it is "you have the need for a connection, and have clearances that allow it".

We also have a SCIF, for what it's worth, and we do SCIFfy stuff here. And the building is access controlled, and we have RF tags on our keychains and badges. The secretary is armed, and vendors are not free to traipse around the office without escort. If we really wanted to, we could strip search them, there are signs that warn you we might. We haven't yet, although a couple of vendors make it awfully tempting to apply the Search of Vengeance.

As far as the rest goes, I won't tell you although you can certainly look up the networks on Google and get just about all you'd want to know. For what it's worth, it's not like you go onto JWICS just to surf to see what you run across.

The government has its own ISP...Level 1. A hacker can get into it. Hackers have gotten into it. There is no magic 'special' other 'Internet'. It's just servers and an ISP connected to everything else. It's browser is based on Mozilla Firefox technology, uses a 1024 bit encryption algorithm, and there are several data gateways behind VPNs.... but they do not have their own special internet.

You never know who reads and posts on these boards, false information can sometimes be as bad as the truth.

If in fact Mr. Bedlam you have this sort of clearance..why...WHY would you offer out privileged information (no matter how minimal) that can have you flagged for possible investigation?

A word to the wise is sufficient.

Meaning, I'm really quite serious about you being able to get in trouble by posting open ended queries for data off of SIPRNET or JWICS. The community term for it is "fishing expedition" and in the worst case you might attract REAL attention, the sort you mightn't like.

I'm not trying to be overly dramatic here. I have seen people get in trouble for soliciting, even something as innocent as that. Time to time I see someone here do this, and drop them a friendly hint. Do what you please, but understand that they take that sort of thing seriously. A lot more so than 99.9% of the other stuff I see on ATS.

Like I said, they share the same pipes except for JWICS, which is moving off.

I have serious doubts about hackers getting in to SIPRNET as well.

That it exists is not privileged, you can find all sorts of info on it in general. That's not what I'm posting about. If you go "on a fishing expedition" it can attract attention you won't care for. Take it or leave it, as you will.

I'm confused...you were the one to mention these connections, the original poster simply had a valid inquiry and intelligent thoughts. Why mention these things if you know and understand the ramifications of inquiring on it?

Haven't you ever heard of how people have hacked into the governments
"private secure" system and and went to Federal prison. There are probably a lot more "Top Secret" info in that system besides the UFO info you are looking for and I'm sure the government won't take your "I'm only looking for UFO info" into account when they catch you and sentence you to Fedral prison.

man are you serious, # i bet ya any big company has their own secret network to hide their secrets in the goverment has more networks than anyone of us will ever know, and self destruct chips i think is a little out there most likely the only protection is a virus that will whipe the hard drive clean if you mess with it
