The all-seeing eye was well-known Satanist Aleister Crowley's favorite symbol.

Lets just make stuff up shall we?

Remember kiddies if you ever want to prove something is evil just connect it with good ol Al

Tang - well-known Satanist Aleister Crowley's favorite breakfast drink
Wal-Mart - well-known Satanist Aleister Crowley's favorite mega-mart
Elvis - well-known Satanist Aleister Crowley's favorite rock and roller

Anyway if Crowley had a favorite symbol it would be his "mark of the beast" as it was his person symbol. altreligion.about.com...

I have never been to the Louvre. I know it is a museum in France, but I have never been there and I have never been inside. I have heard people talk about it, but having never entered myself, and not having researched it from a reputable source, I cannot say anything about it. Those who make claims about LDS temples here are in the same boat. You must not comment on things you are not sure about. Speculation makes you sound ignorant.

For the record, I am a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, "Mormon", although I prefer the former. I have been in many of the churches temples worldwide. While I am not at liberty to discuss the proceedings of temple ordinances, I will say that everything in the temple focuses on Jesus Christ. Therefore, if you are told something about the church or the temple that does not seem in accordance with the teachings of Christ, I can assure you it is false. Members of the LDS church focus their lives on Jesus Christ, or rather that is to say, members are told to focus their lives on Christ. What members do is entirely up to them.

By no means are members of the LDS church better than anyone else in the world. This means that they are subject to the same vices and atrocities that plauge modern society. To condemn the entire church for something that a member might do, and claim that it is the policy of the church, is wrong. Just as I may not condemn the Jewish nation for crucifying Christ. Look at what is good in a religon's teachings and judge each member individually by what they do. The LDS church condemns all sin. That is, anything that is to be evil. The teachings of the church teach men and women to be good and just to each other. The LDS church does not condone evil in any form. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar.

Yes, some members of the LDS church do evil things and profess that it is the policy of the church. One cannot read any doctrine published by the LDS church and come to the conclusion that that statement is true. And anyone who is found in such practices is reprimanded by the chuch and remanded to local government authorities if their crime is of such a nature. If the fellow who started this post was treated so harshly, then the place to get it taken care of is not on this forum, but rather the activities of those involved should be reported to local law enforcement. Do not condemn the LDS Church as evil because a member of the church did you wrong.

Ok folks,

This is my first post on this board so I hope I am in the correct thread and what not. As you can tell from the subject of this reply, I no longer practice the religion. This is how I see it. I was born in Salt Lake City, aka the Mormon Mecca. I lived in the miserable state of Utah for quite a few years before we moved closer to the Ocean. My family is very religious and active in the church. I can remember all the stories my mom would tell me about paying tithing. She claims that if you just give %10 percent of what you earn to the Church, God will take care of you. I also remember going to church on Sunday for three hours at a time. Its truly more than a person can bear save a young child. During this time, members of the church would give talks telling about their experience with the church, telling uplifting stories like those you might find in a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. Every first sunday of the month they had Fast and Testimony meeting which was a special church session. Here members are highly encouraged to participate in not eating for 24 hours. In addition, after church they send young boys out to the members houses to collect 'fast offering'. This is supposed to be an offering of money in the amount that you would have spent on the food. So not only do you starve, you give the money that you would have paid for food away.

I always though it was mean and cruel to not allow your children to eat food, especially when they are starving and too young to understand the concepts of religion. Going deeper with this concept, the parents and teacher units of this religion prey heavily on the children teaching them and convincing them of many odd things before the children have a capacity to discern truth from untruth. Now of course I will be attacked by a Mormon for saying that but let me give an example. On a monthly basis during one of the 'Fast and Testimony' meetings, the first hour of church is open to the members of the church to 'Bear their Testimony' - that is to bear witness to the audience their beliefs. It is common for children to be motivated to get up and tell about their feelings, and their parents get up on the stand with them for moral support. Kids 4 and 5 years old have their parents whisper in there ear what they should say. Here is a common excerpt from on of these childrens testimonies [I would like to bear my testimony, I know this church is true, I love my mom and my dad, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen]

At a very young age, the church teaches the children what they want them to think. A 4 year old has no clue what he thinks about the religion, and neither does an 8 year old, the age at which kids are encouraged (highly once gain) to get baptised. As the children age, the teachings become more engrained and in depth, and the strategies are mroe subtle. At age 18 young 'worthy' men are expected to go on a mission. If I could have a dime for every time a church member asked, "So where do you want to go on your mission?" I would be richer than the sultan. Luckily I am more intelligent than the average American drone. I ask myself alot of questions. First off, MY mission? The entire church had assumed i was going one one of these here Missions, and had made the choice for me already apparently. It wasn't if i wanted to go or not, the question was, where did I want to go. This is just one of the subversive tactics I experienced in the church.

In High School, young adults are expected to go to Seminary, which is a religious classroom environment usually before school at 6:00 in the morning when the mind can hardly operate ( I am assuming there are other reasons for this special hour of lecture). I was fortunate enough to get kicked out of this monday through friday church before school session for calling the teacher a set of vulgar names for making a mockery in front of the class.

Continuing story on next post
