the below method discovered by stanley myers and patented since and tested successfully in front of various winesses involves using high voltages and low currents to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

it is now 2007 and yet no sigh of mass producing it or commercialising it...

why?

any ideas..

its seems to be low cost using standard lab equipment.

the immediate key word is pure water

tap water is not pure, it has flouride/flourine & other bacteria killers in it
the oceans salt water is not useable either
i imagine one needs to distill the fuel source water to be electrolited into its H2O parts
with pure water a limited resource, it is more needed for living organisms consumption rather than fuel...unless your willing to pay $5 a gallon for water instead of $3 a gallon for gas (which one cannot drink)
