The 23rd of January saw the death of one of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the CIA. E. Howard Hunt, most famous for being one of the 'Plumbers' in the Watergate scandal died after battling pneumonia, he was 88. Hunt takes many secrets of his involvement in CIA 'Black Ops' with him to his grave. We can only hope that his 'secret diary' will come into the hands of publishers.

The elder Hunt was many things: World War II soldier, CIA officer, organizer of both a Guatemalan coup and the botched Bay of Pigs invasion, and author of more than 80 books, many from the spy-tale genre.

Yet the bulk of his notoriety came from the one thing he always insisted he wasn't — a Watergate burglar. He often said he preferred the term "Watergate conspirator."

While working for the CIA, Hunt recruited four of the five actual burglars — Bernard Barker, Virgilio Gonzalez, Rolando Eugenio Martinez and Frank Sturgis, all who had worked for Hunt a decade earlier in the Bay of Pigs Invasion.

Oh Mr. Hunt, we hardly knew you.
Your fictional tales of espionage couldn't have come close to the truth of the psyops you performed on the people of the South Americas. Your drug running exploits are the stuff of legend and, oh yes; Where were you on November 22, 1963?

Hunt's death must nearly be on par with that of a mythological beast in the minds of the people of Guatamala and the other countries in which he performed his dastardly deeds.

Even to those in the U.S.A. who still bear memories of the infamous 'Squad 19'.

Hunt joins his old crony, Frank Sturgis in a place that is undoubtably very hot.
