Hello all
so you joined up! you want to jump in and post and then AHHH buttons!!
What do they do! what do the little pics mean! ???
So here I am to help you get to grips with posting
We will first start with the posting box,
I have numbered all in the pic above,
1- the EX tab, This is for when you quote a source from another website,
you click on this tab, and then enter the snippet of text you have copied,
Example,.
2, these are your Bold, Italic, and underline, again just click and add your text to get the desired effect, test test test.
3, This is to align your text in a certain style,
4, This makes your link clicky i.e. CLICK ME!
Just click add your word ie, click me , link, then add the link,
5, these 2 are for adding you image so it appears in your post,
Click and add the link to your uploaded pic,
6, this is you quote button , This is used when quoting your fellow member or content on this site..
Example,
Asala says this is how it looks
Now we can go from here,
PLEASE use my thread to ask any questions on posting, I can show you examples of each bit as you need it
here is Zedds handbook of ATS to help with other questions you may have

Asala,
Very good information.
I have two questions:
-How i can create a quote framework with the name of whom wrote that?
-Can you explain also the YouTubeVideo (an example would be of assistance)?
Again very good information for the newcomers

I'm just thinking adding the usage of the
tag. also can be used with the button with # on it. have posted this as I didn't know what it
was for until very recently, and I can't remember where I found out what it does.
for example, using the [ex ] tags:
Mag Date long lat depth
MAP 5.1 2007/05/15 17:42:41 46.855 155.414 10.0 EAST OF THE KURIL ISLANDS
MAP 5.0 2007/05/15 12:41:05 -7.769 155.612 10.0 SOLOMON ISLANDS
MAP 5.3 2007/05/15 11:22:19 47.885 154.555 10.0 KURIL ISLANDS
MAP 5.2 2007/05/15 01:14:57 -55.101 -128.258 10.0 PACIFIC-ANTARCTIC RIDGE
Using the
tags:
Mag Date long lat depth
MAP 5.1 2007/05/15 17:42:41 46.855 155.414 10.0 EAST OF THE KURIL ISLANDS
MAP 5.0 2007/05/15 12:41:05 -7.769 155.612 10.0 SOLOMON ISLANDS
MAP 5.3 2007/05/15 11:22:19 47.885 154.555 10.0 KURIL ISLANDS
MAP 5.2 2007/05/15 01:14:57 -55.101 -128.258 10.0 PACIFIC-ANTARCTIC RIDGE

Great iniative asala, but why not show how to write the codes straight as you go. Much easier and more fail-safe.
Everything that goes on here is in html. How it will look, how it will appear is determined by inserted tags of html commands at the proper places in
the text body.
html tags = commands, executed when within [... ] AND remeber always terminated when the executing command reappears with a slash.. like this [/...
]
tags that can format various quote boxes
for when another post is quoted
[ex ] when a site, publication or older news is quoted
[news ] when it's current news
keeps the original format. (new to me, could have been handy a couple of times, thanks for showing, apex)
------------
tags that can format text
[b ] for bold
[i ] for italic
[u ] for underline
where x is a number, typical 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 giving size of font. Default is 3
where x can be either a hex number or color names
------------
tags that can embed url's to links or images
where x is a http-address, creates a link to that address
[im ] for url to image displayed with full http
for link only to image (EXTERNAL IMAGE)
[ats ] for images hosted on your ATS upload space
------------
Please note, I've put a space in the [x_] which of course shall not be there when you insert them. So they won't exe, but only display. And remember
to close your quote, text, url, with the slash command [/xx ].
The best way to learn the html tags used on ATS is to open any post that makes you wonder 'how they did it'. You can do that by clicking "quote"
on the upper left corner of the post. Then it opens in a "post reply" window, where you can see the actual tags as they are used as well as their
syntax. That's the best way to learn it.
JUST REMEMBER: don't press "POST REPLaY" ..you didn't wanna post anything, just look, so you click close or back.
Anyone has any other command tags, please post.
[edited to clarify ...I hope]

asala,
I wanted to thank you for the help. I did get my post up, but the syntax was off just a couple spaces so had to edit.
You know, you should clip the answers you have to give lunkheads like me and put them in a reference-able place we can get to. We newbies would not
have to pelt you so often.
Thanks again,
ZG

Nope
Ok, it doesn't do what I thought it did. That is all.

I would like to ask a question concerning the E.T. presence where many knowledgable people may view it and possibly reply with an answer. Would I
search for a similar forum and post a thread?
